☠ ☮
☠: Their worst nightmare.
Simple -- it’s the same thing as his, although the desire is pushed back so far by all that he has, ultimate goal: becoming more robot than he is human. As it is, he sometimes struggles to tell the difference.
☮: How they keep calm.
Building little, senseless projects, honestly. He has inventions that could change lives (like his body parts, for instance -- they work as functioning and more? He’s a genius, he just doesn’t know where to put the efforts) and yet, then he has things like his next upcoming project: jet foot. These do serve major purpose in keeping him occupied, however silly they may be.
★☹
★: Who inspires them.
IRON-MAN! That’s right -- the comic book character. His side of the room is covered in posters, scanned comic book pages that meant a lot to him when he read them ( he would never actually rip one from his collection -- which, mind you, is probably worth more than he is ), and blueprints of how exactly his suit could work in theory; he knows it’s just a story, but the fact is this: Iron Man had no superpower. Everything he did was thanks to science, and Finn has, although unintentionally at first, become something of a real, in the flesh, Iron-Man. It’s just a shame he can’t take his suit off.
☹: A thought that makes them sad.
The worry he strikes in his parents, probably. He’s just about given them legitimate heart attacks with the shit he’s pulled, and god, does he feel awful about it -- just the same, he knows it’s something he can hardly control. He’s trying, though.
✖ ☹
✖: A trait they despise in people.
I don’t... think there is one? At least not one that stands out as something he truly detests. I mean, there are little things that annoy him, sure, but I don’t think he really cares at the end of the day. It’s sad to say, but he’s extremely self absorbed -- even if by no real fault of his own. He was isolated from his peers at a really prime age for socializing and learning how other people work, so it’s no wonder that he will, naturally, retreat into his work. I suppose, if it’s anything, it’s willful ignorance. If he’s noticed anything about the world around him, it’s that people seem not to even try to understand the things around them and that infuriates him. It’s one thing to not have the capacity to understand some things, but choosing not to? A whole other ballgame.
☹: A thought that makes them sad.
I got another for this as well, so I’ll keep it to one thing -- and it’s probably just the simple fact alone that he can’t blame people who avoid him. It’s like, he can’t even look at himself in the mirror on most any given day, so how is anyone else supposed to, you know?

♥: How they show affection.
While this is overall variant on the person he’s trying to show affection to, it is in most cases, very, very subtle. Affection to Finn can be as simple as spending time with another person ( they don’t even have to talk to each other, really, and he might prefer that if he’s working -- of course, he’d never make anyone stick around, but he definitely appreciates the company / is never bothered by another person present, so long as they don’t sue if there’s an explosion lmfao ). Alternatively, if said person is particularly special to him, he’ll show them his latest inventions first hand -- maybe even gift them to them. I don’t know how he’d act in a relationship yet, to be frank. The boy was homeschooled from the age of eleven to now, so...? May shy away from it.
♕: Would they rule, or be ruled?
God. I really don’t know. On one hand, he’s never taken to doing things according to plan/the rules, so it feels like an obvious answer that he would be making them, but on the other hand? He has... no control? None at all? Could he really rule a kingdom when he can’t even keep himself from replacing his own body parts?
☻: Person who could without a doubt make them happy.
The way things are right now, no one really comes to mind -- although, he’s found a large amount of safety in a particular upperclassman from the earth house; Kyler.

Interests||Dray&Finn
drayconnor.
Getting out of class early would normally be great, for most people, but with the beaches closed off from the rain and his best, and arguably only, friend still in class, Dray had nothing to do. At least, nothing he wanted·to be doing. So like the codependent bastard he was, he was waiting in Zach’s room until he got out of class, which turned out to be boring as hell. Dray liked to be alone, but he liked to be in places that had things he found interest in. Sure, their dog Cerbie was fun sometimes, but he was currently just laying about like a lump. He thought he might have to bring some of his own things into Zach’s room to make it more wait around-able. But as much as he’d have liked to be able to wait around for his best friend, there was no way he could stay when he saw something genuinely interesting walking past the door. A boy with a metal arm. And a limp, if he was correct. Dray easily made the decision to go after him. As he caught up, he thought of tens of lies, reasons to be talking to the guy, but when he finally got to that point, all he said was,·“I’m Dray.”
Water -- the natural enemy of all things technological. Finn is typically careful to check the weather before exiting the premises of the air house on any given day, and while he doesn’t know what made today different, boy does he wish it hadn’t. His gears can tolerate water, for the most part, he’s been careful to arrange that much ( he’s still somewhat human, after all, and they are 70% water -- albeit he’s probably much less that, these days ) but too much of it could, for him, be deadly. That said, he’s quite literally forced to run to safety which would be a lot easier if he weren’t sporting the limp of the century; something that’s supposed to aide him but unless he’s jumping, it’s practically useless. How often does he fuckin’ jump, anyhow? When the other approaches him, he’s caught off guard. So much so that there’s a moment after halting that he looks around him for anyone that Dray here possibly could’ve been talking to, but he comes up dry. It’s not that he’s put off, but he’s surprised, and it shows. However, so does the vague cheeriness beneath it; he’s so used to being avoided. It’s a nice change of pace. “Uh... hey, dude! Finn.” It’s instinct for him to hold out his hand to shake -- his right one, his robotic one -- but instantly, he drops it in place of his non-preferred, human one. Cue him just as quickly trying to change the subject. “I don’t think I’ve seen you around. What element do you have?”

his favorite classes -- honing your element, but not because he’s good at it. no, he’s doing the best in biochem & potions, but honing your element? frankly, awful. his control over his element is pitiful, but that’s what he’s here for -- it frustrates him to no end and it shows, but damn if he doesn’t keep at it.
classes he dreads going to -- he doesn’t care much for charms or magic in the big apple, and as a result, puts the minimal amount of effort in. despite being a downright genius, he has a tendency not to try with something if he doesn’t have a personal interest in it.
HEADCANON -- VISUAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN FINN & HIS FACE CLAIM, DYLAN O’BRIEN, WHAT THEY MEAN TO HIM and WHY THEY HAPPENED. explanation underneath the cut because it may be disturbing to some of you! please read with caution. i’m not sure how to tag it properly, but the content is literally about the loss of limbs & other body parts -- some of which was on purpose.
What you notice first about Finn is really a 50/50 shot between his striking blue eye where a brown one should be & his robotic arm, but there’s a couple of more as well. Those we’ll get to after I explain the two most prominent.
His eye. Like most first great achievements, his eye was an accident -- or, well, derived from an awful one. Finn is a scientist in the most raw form; but, unfortunately, a very reckless one. The exact details of this particular experiment are... well, blurry, but he does remember that for a solid moment before the explosion, it was a success. He lost sight in his right eye for a couple of months, but in that allotted time, he created his replacement eye. It was bulky, at first. A metal casing around his entire eyesocket. Eventually, he was able to successfully implant it in his head with the help of a family friend who specialized in medical & scientific magic. As you can see, the new eye is colored blue and it has three lenses -- one can see detail, one can see the colors of magic ( meaning, the traces magic leaves in the air ), and the last is sort of an accuracy stabilizer; all of which aide him greatly in his pursuit of magic and science alike.
His arm. I imagine this to be close to his arm, but not exactly. It’s probably black and silver instead of silver and blue, there’s way more buttons, and it lights up. I would honestly have to draw it, and one day, I totally will.
Not unlike his eye, this was a complete accident -- arguably more grave and frankly, terrifying. It was meant to be a heat resistant & absorbent magical sleeve, but when he put his arm inside it without testing (it fit just like a glove, except all the way up to his shoulder. he sometimes shivers at the memory.) and turned it on to suck up a flame, it malfunctioned. It completely crushed and incinerated his arm until there was nothing left -- it’s frankly a miracle he survived that one. After making some modifications to make it a completely functional arm (and, well, the heat resistance & absorbency is still there -- as it is that theres nothing left to crush where his arm was and it, after being worked out and tested thoroughly, is really helpful), he used magic & science to attach it to himself. Showering was a struggle at first, but he has since made it waterproof -- with the reservation that he can only be in water for so long before malfunctioning start
What happened to his arm is easily the starting point of a simultaneously self-destructive & self-evolving that, honestly, landed him here. I know for a fact that he struggles with dissociation to some degree -- and I know that this poor motherfucker felt the most real when he was losing his limb, and honestly? That haunts him. The fact that he sometimes doesn’t even feel human anymore absolutely haunts him. Bruises/bodily injuries, honest to God, comfort him in the sense that he’s reminded he has a goddamn blood flow -- he bleeds red, and he has to tell himself that every day.
His foot. God, his foot. The intention was to make a foot that could create better jumping leverage, and it does work for that, but he, intentionally, destroyed his foot and replaced it with this. Finn regrets this the most, and honestly? It scares the shit out of him that he did it so willingly. Like his parents, he began fearing for his own safety. There’s no image that really visually depicts the foot, but it looks like a normal foot, except... well, metal. Full functionality. It does, however, give him a serious limp because the poor bastard accidentally made it uneven.
To distract himself, he did a more fun, overall harmless body modification. He has a wifi-hot spot in the back of his neck and down his back, and it looks like a wild sort of tattoo, something like this. He thinks this one’s really cool.
Next project: jet feet.
