The tenseness in her shoulders was relieved when Abigail recognized the voice of the person on the roof. Knowing it was Finn made her feel better, at least he knew her and not a random that who would think she was crazy. Moving towards his voice Abigail couldn’t help but wonder what on earth he was doing up here. “Just Finn, it’s only Abby,” she spoke out, “Dunno how harmless I am.” Giving him a small wave along with a shy smile when they were able to see each other.
"What are you doing up here?" she asked without really thinking, that had been happening a lot lately. Think before you speak, dumbass Abby thought to herself. Noticing the scrapes and blood on his knees, Abigail’s eyes widened, “Oh my god are you okay? Your knees. Did I freak you out? Oh my god I totally did that. I’m sorry. Do they hurt? Oh god I’m sorry, I’m an idiot.” She rambled automatically assuming she had caused it, bringing her hands to her face and dragging them down stretching out her face weirdly, “God I’m sorry.”
Finn laughed lightly when he heard Abigail's voice call back through the darkness and walked until he had spotted her approaching him through the shadows. "Hey, Abs." He greeted with a smile that only slightly waivered when she asked for his reasoning for being up on the roof of a hotel at night. "I like the view." He said simply, about to ask her the same question when she spotted his knees.
"Whoa, whoa. It's okay, I'm fine!" He quickly soothed the small girl, moving to place a hand gently on her shoulder in an attempt to calm her down. "I'm fine, I just tripped. Yeah, you did spook me a bit, to be honest." He told her with a light smile on his lips. "Is there a reason you were yelling on the roof at night?" He asked her.

Phoebe felt extremely comfortable with his arms around her, it felt usual at this point — but that didn’t mean it wasn’t special still. She hugged him back and looked down at the bump that was her stomach “We’re great. I went for a walk this morning at this park I found online… I bet you would like it. There’s a lake and everything” they started to walk towards the door as Phoebe rambled “Anyway, I read that walking is good, so I’m trying to walk everywhere, but…” the noise of the busy streets of Tokyo swallowed her voice in the minute it opened “There’s too much people!” she yelled over the noise and laughed.
Once again, she stood behind him as they walked, but this time she went after his hand instead of the fabric of his shirt. Phoebe looked down for a second and there it was — The red bracelet she had given him at Coachella. A grin spread across her face at the sight of the present and she held his hand tighter until they reached a less-crowded street, where they were finally able to walk side to side. Yet, she didn’t let go of his grip, and neither did he. “Where do you think we’re going next, huh?”
Finn nodded along as Phoebe explained how walking was good for her and the baby. Once outside he laughed as her voice was drowned out and she had to yell over the noise. It was crazy, the noise of this city. He felt her fingers reaching out for his own and threaded his between hers, leading her down the street. He took note of her hand, so small in his own and how right it felt to be holding it as he did.
Finally, the crowds let up and she was next to him. He expected her to drop his hand but smiled when she didn't, making his heart jump a bit in his chest. "Hopefully somewhere peaceful." He said honestly, scrunching up his nose a bit at the never-ending noise and the hot urban smell of Tokyo. "Not that this place isn't amazing, it's just...not my taste." He admitted, looking over to give her another smile, a bit shyer this time. "Are we just wandering until we find a fro-yo place?" He asked with a light chuckle.

"Then light up in my room, because im not gonna leave you alone." Finn wasn’t budging, had stopped letting Avery push him around. Why couldn’t he just cooperate. "Im not gonna talk you down im gonna talk to you in the safety of my room." Which happens to have a lot of narcotics, which could kill you, but thats on a need to know basis. Avery tried to shove him again, softer this time more of a guiding hand. They could go down the stairs, his room wasn’t far and he just wanted to curl up in bed, maybe handcuffed to Finn. Finn looked like he gave warm hugs too, despite probably wanting to kill himself.
"Finn come on im not gonna let up, ill follow you and cough all over you and swear and curse and tweet. I may even start crying if your lucky - my head is pounding. So just be nice so I don’t have to make a scene. Throwing a temper tantrum wasn’t in the itinerary today."he patted Finns cheek, putting a small smile on before his face fell once more - he was back to giving the taller boy small shoves. "Come on blue eyes lets go."
The switch of attitude suprised Finn. The boy no longer seemed angry, but instead exhausted, concerned, and ill. The look in the boy's eyes as he attempted to convince Finn to come along with him tugged at his heart strings causing him to sigh. "Fine, alright. I'll come along." He agreed then offered the boy a crooked smile of his own when his had dropped away. "They're green by the way." He teased gently, allowing him to push him on down the stairs.
"Are you alright though?" He asked now, more concerned about the brunette now that the attention was slightly off of him. It made him braver, able to speak up. "You said you'd cough on me, implying you're sick. What's wrong? Do you have medicine? You really shouldn't be up on the roof if you're ill. I can make some killer sleepytime tea if you want?" He listed off. He hated seeing people not feeling well. It made him feel a bit helpless that he couldn't make them better that instant.

Abigail had spent the last couple hours trying to clear her head just walking around the hotel from floor to floor. She had successfully out from behind her bed and couldn’t get it out of her hands. The constant messages being sent to her from people she didn’t know freaked her out. Even if she knew she was alone Abby couldn’t help but feel that someone was watching her every move. The paranoia was driving her a bit crazy, or maybe crazy was a bit of an understatement. She couldn’t sleep let alone leave the hotel, so she ended up wandering around the hotel. Changing apps from messages to her photo album, Abigail found herself looking through older and older photos she came upon photos from when Kristen was alive. Hovering her thumb over the trash button, she hesitated before making the screen black not deleting them.
Somehow she found herself on the roof of the hotel, not really remembering how she got up there. The chilled air covered her body in goosebumps, and blew the hair off her face. Wearing nothing but a pair of shorts and a tank top, Abigail shivered but the fresh air felt nice against her bare skin. The phone in her hand vibrated in her hand indicating she had a text message, but she ignored it moving towards the side of the roof looking at the view. There was no denying it was beautiful, the skyline was something else. Taking a photo of it, Abby got the first bit of the message sent to her. Again from an unknown number and she was about to ignore it when she saw her cousins name in the message.
"Leave me alone!" she yelled at her phone, contemplating throwing it over the edge. It seemed that no matter what she did, everyone who died around her followed her not matter what. First it was in her thoughts, now it was thoughts and the person who seemed to know everything about her life. Spinning around with her head in her hands letting out a frustrated groan and a few tears slide from her eyes. Whipping them from her eyes, Abigail noticed someone else on the roof, "Hello?" she yelled to the person secretly hoping they hadn’t heard her freakout.
Biting cold nipped at Finn's bare shoulders, sending him back into reality just as a yell sounded from behind him, startling him a bit and sending him wobbling on the percipice of life and the cold awaiting concrete below. He threw his weight forward at last second and landed hard on the gritty pavement of the roof. He sucked in a breath between his teeth as the stinging slowly subsided from his knees and hands. "Shit." He stated simply as he pushed himself upright, gently brushing the grit from the wounds.
He heard a call and looked up towards the poorly lit shadows. "Hello?" He responded, squinting to try to make out any figures. It was useless though. He started forwards, moving cautiously as to not startle whoever else was up there. "Hello?" He called once more. "Uh, it's just Finn. If you know who that is, I mean. Totally harmless, I swear." He added on, half joking as he searched for the other roof-dweller.
a happy place // finn and phoebe
Cravings were a constant on Phoebe’s life. The pills Keely had given her had helped to ease the morning sickness, and since she was officially off her first trimester, they were fading to the point of being non-existant. But cravings were something she couldn’t handle unless she ate, and although she avoided junk food as much as possible, sometimes it was too much to take. She rubbed her 12 week bump as she brushed her hair (she had gotten the habit of rubbing it sometimes, not really knowing why. Like she had to make sure it was still there. That it was real, it wasn’t a dream.) and got out of the door to meet Finn.
The talk from earlier… She couldn’t lie to herself. That was flirting. And she may or may not have said that on purpose… But he had actually said something back. He just didn’t freak out and ignored her. And that was a good sign — A sign for what, though? The baggage Phoebe carried was too much, and putting all of it on Finn’s sensitive shoulders… She didn’t know, she didn’t know. Right then, she was just going to get frozen yogurth with him and not even mention what happened before. See where life took it. But once she spotted him in the lobby, all tall and handsome… The blush appeared again along with a smile.
Finn stood in the lobby of the hotel, waiting for Phoebe to get ready and meet him. He smiled as he thought back to their earlier conversation. She had called him cute, well technically not not-cute, but it was all the same to him. What did that mean? Did it mean anything? He scuffed the toe of his TOMS on the ground as he thought it over, wishing his brother was there with him. Jack had always been better at this kind of thing. He got girls and understood how they worked as much as any guy could, Finn just...he was never good at seeing anyones feelings towards himself.
He looked up from the ground just in time to see Phoebe enter the lobby, immediately bringing a wide grin to his face which she returned. His eyes wandered briefly to the small curve of her belly, poking out just a bit farther than usual, creating a small but obvious bump. There was another issue. He was sure that Phoebe wouldn't be interested in him, not when she had this baby to worry about. Her being pregnant wasn't that big of an issue to Finn. He was used to children, being around his cousins all of his life, and it wasn't as if he was the father, but he didn't know if she wanted to take on the stress of being in a relationship and having a child. Relationship? When was that even an option? He mentally kicked himself, willing his mind to shut up and let him respond to the situation that was occurring now. Not worry about his non-existent love life.
He met Phoebe halfway and carefully pulled her to him, giving her a warm hug. "Hey, Pheebs. How's it hanging?" He asked cheerfully, then motioned to her belly. "How's little Gus/Emma feeling?"

"Oh Im sure thats exactly what you were doing, work on your lying." Avery kept a hand on his arm, as if to keep him there so he wouldn’t take a running leap off the building. That would be a spectacle for sure. Taking a few steps back he pulled the taller boy with him, glaring up at him like he was stupid and also the cause for Hiroshima. It was quiet the look.
"Yeah I look like im about to freeze and you look like your gonna jump off a building - glad we’ve gotten past that." He didn’t know who the kid was and didn’t really care, He was annoyed and felt stupidly responsible now - this is what he got for trying to better himself and not just doing cocaine.Letting go of Finn’s arm he moved behind him and pushed him towards the door. "Come one, were going inside." He shoved sharply. "And were gonna talk and it’ll be so much fun - so glad I get to do this today." The sarcasm came off in waves and it was all tinged with pain - his head was pounding after all. But he couldnt leave the kid alone, might try again if he thought no one cared or some bullshit.
Avery wouldn’t be falling for Finn’s level one diversion tactics any time soon, the focus would stay on little miss kill me. He was much better at it so could easily see through the way Finn would try and change the subject. Avery had created a whole life for himself on the basis he didnt like people or attention though, so none of the idiots bullshit would work. “Its like 12, did you want the people coming to work to see you splattered all over? Ruin their days?
Finn sighed heavily as the boy pushed him towards the door. So much for a night out on the roof. He heard the boy's irritation plain in his voice and easily stopped him from pushing him any further once they were inside the door. "I'm not suicidal, man." He said simply, turning to face the younger boy. "I wasn't planning on jumping, alright? You don't have to waste your time trying to talk to me off a ledge because I was going to step down myself."
I wasn't really going to jump. He told himself once more for good measure. He was sure he wasn't. "I wasn't going to be splattered all over the pavement, I went up there to think! I may be a little crazy for standing that close to the edge, but I'm not suicidal." He ran a hand through his hair once, trying to not get frustrated with the situation. The one time he even thinks about anything along those lines and this kid comes along.
"Just go about your business and I'll go about mine. Seriously, all I'm going to do is light up and chill, maybe make some tea, alright? Alright."
Couple of times, I think… But never by such a fine fellow like you, Mr. Finnick. Can’t say I’m not blushing a little.
Meet you at the lobby?
Can't wait to see that blush then.
See you there.
Officially a thing. Yeah, well, you’re not not-cute, like, not at all… You do? Okay, good.
Yes please!
Glad to hear it, and of course I do. You're absolutely beautiful, surely you've been told that before?
Onward then!

Avery’s head pounded, he thought he was really sick this time. It wasnt the drugs either - he hadn’t much of anything in the last week or so because of how incredibly shitty he felt. It was like someone was tap dancing on his brain with cleats. He hadnt been outside in a few days though, so bundling up in a jacket a few sizes to big he made the trek into the great cold out doors - hoping the fresh air would clean his sinuses and he could leave the ranks of ‘mouth breather’.
On the roof the novelty of fresh air ran out fairly quick, the boy who was ridden with a fever found that he was still cold and the roof was actually seven times more shitty than expected. Only being out there for a few seconds he didn’t notice Finn right away, to busy being self -pitying. When he did though his first thought was anything but nice, he kinda wanted whoever it was to jump. Didnt last long though and in a few moments he had a hand pulling Finn back from the edge, face marred in a frown.
"What the fuck do you think your doing?" His accent was thick and he was angry - this kid was gonna commit suicide? On the trip? How fucking classy, he was an asshole and Avery wanted to punch him in the face. The fact he was suicidal and Avery wasn’t completely heartless made him pause though.
Finn gasped as he felt a hand wrap around his bicep, jerking him back from where he had previously been standing. He turned to see a small brunette glaring at him, anger flaring in his eyes as he spit words at him, a thick French accent slurring them. "I-I was just looking at the city. I do it all of the time." He stuttered out, looking at the boy with wide eyes. It wasn't a total lie and anyone who knew Finn would believe him. He did weird things, but he was a happy guy, no worries when it came to him.
He looked at the smaller boy and raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing out here? You look like you're about to freeze, man?" He asked, quickly switching the topic to Avery. "You're Avery, right?" He added on the end, knowing that the guy may not remember who he was they had only spoken a few times before. "I'm Finn."
Finn had never liked a lot of attention being on himself, he was always more than happy to hand the screaming girls and people taking pictures over to Jack, who ate up the attention like they were sweets. Now with Avery's full attention, angry attention at that one him, Finn could feel heat rise to his cheeks, drawing his eyes to his bare feet and willing the other boy to glance away or something.
