GUYS

I’m pretty sure all of you have me on skype anyway but just in case: sonorusilence; please make sure you say who you are when you add me b/c I don’t add back otherwise and my personal is whatwouldlilydo.

I think all of you know by now how much it would break my heart to give up on my babies, and especially Finn and Dirk. If any of you want to 1x1 with any of them come chat (skype or personal inbox preferably) or otherwise I would be so happy if you just settled for bombarding my inbox with prompts and things because... like I say I can’t just give them up. They’re going to be living on  in my heart and my mind, so if you want them to for you, too, then they can.

I’m not going to say I’ll miss you lot too because that implies that this means we’re going to stop talking together/rping together. But I do love you all, and I can’t even describe how much you mean to me, and how much you’ve done for me. It’s more than you’ll ever know. It’s been a good few years.

Or in January technically, but it’s only just getting off the ground and I’m a little all over the place until after the wedding, but— did you know I’m getting married? I’m getting married. Anyway, it means I’m pretty busy and not much has happened yet, but we’ve been doing some of these leaflets and handing them out. Just explaining who we are and why things are such an issue for muggleborns at the moment, and other than that it’s mostly about funding because apparently everything costs money.”

Headcanon 109

Minerva McGonagall was the year above Doris Frazer at Hogwarts. Their times as Gryffindor prefects overlapped by two years and they remained in contact with each other after school.

When Finn was younger, he had never seen the advantage to his mother being close to his Transfiguration professor and Head of House. She may have known him since he was a toddler, but that never changed anything, that he could see, to the way she treated him at school, nor to how much she acknowledged him outside of the classroom during his school years. It may have contributed to his greater trust of her and his security in spilling his heart to her from time to time, but before now, Finn had never truly appreciated how much her friendship with his mother had contributed to that.

On Saturday 31st March, Finn pushed the idea that he had insisted on a Saturday only to give himself a good excuse to avoid the S.S.S. - and Millie - far from his mind as he walked up Hogsmeade high street with his mother. His notes and plans for the S.S.M. were not exactly up to his former teacher’s standards in terms of presentation and completeness - that was obvious enough from her pursed lips when he laid them out on the table of the Three Broomsticks - but when she listened to his explanation there was a spark in her eye which he felt sure was something akin to pride, and when he had finished, she made no hesitation in agreeing to help him, and become an ally of his new society.

Finn held onto her and shook his head, ever so slightly, but he knew she would feel it. “You’re too good to me,” he told her quietly. Bubbling up inside him were too many emotions - too many to handle, but he didn’t want to cry any more. On one hand, he couldn’t believe her statement, no matter how against the grain it was for him to disbelieve anything that came out of his fiancée’s mouth. On the other, he was grateful she said it anyway. He pressed his lips to the top of her head, all the while trying to contain his emotion.

That’s a valid concern. Most music places are like that, I’m sure I’d get annoyed with it all really quickly.

Oh no, those are schools, so I’d have to pay. One of my piano teachers was old, the one I have now is only my dad’s age, but she doesn’t just teach, she does other things as well.

Like I don’t think I’d want to work in some pet shops, because not all of them treat their animals as well as the Menagerie does. Some of them are more concerned about making money than the actual animals. I think if you care about something, you’re actually more picky about what you do in it.

Oh okay. I didn’t know you could do that. I always thought it would take up more of your time, teaching people. My saxophone teacher in primary school was in every day.

Nobody is deciding that, okay? They all still love you. It’s just…hard. People are dying all around and it’s hard being close to anybody when you know that they can die anytime. It doesn’t mean they love you any less.

Is it? I always knew it would mean people... people... dying, but why... Why do we have to do it alone? I feel like one by one all my friends are deciding they can’t be friends with me anymore and I don’t know how to...

It’s not- You don’t have to be sorry. There’s nothing to be sorry about. It’s just a very difficult situation and none of us can know what exactly is the right thing to do.

I guess if you like animals more than music it might be a better fit. We have different interests.

Hopefully I’ll get paid, I don’t really want to do it just as a hobby. If it doesn’t work out to play as a concert pianist, all by myself, I could join an orchestra maybe, or work for a recording studio or something like that. I can also teach if I get nicer. There aren’t a lot of options, but there are enough that I think I can find something.

Definitely. I don’t know it was your type of music shop, either, though. It was mostly pop. I don’t remember there being much classical in there.

But the things you’ve applied for. I mean do you get paid for those, or are they like... university type stuff you have to pay for? I don’t think teaching’s very interesting. You want to do that when you’ve already done all the other stuff and there’s nothing left for you to do than pass it on to other people. Music teachers are usually really old.

Mmm, you wouldn’t want to do that then.

It’s good that you’ve found someplace better.

That was only a summer job, anyway. After fifth year, in fact, so really ages ago. I don’t think even when I got it I was going to be planning on ending up back there after school. It did make me think that I wouldn’t want to do shop work at all but then someone said that maybe I’d enjoy it if it was more what I like and yes the Menagerie definitely is that.

When you do your piano thing, will that be a job or will you have to pay for it?

Did you get to read or anything? I played piano to pass the time, I would’ve quit sooner if I had nothing to do.

I don’t really read. I’d find that even more boring. I tried to talk to the other people who worked there and things, but I don’t know. It’s a lot better at the Menagerie. There’s stuff to do even when there’s no customers.

That sounds great. I’d love to work in a music shop. I liked working there, it wasn’t very busy so I didn’t have to do a lot of work.

That’s interesting. I think I didn’t like it for the same reason. I got too bored there.
