i really HATE huntress with kids.

NOT BECAUSE I THINK HER EMBRACING SOFTNESS AND VULNERABILITY IS A BAD THING, TO BE CLEAR.

its because THAT shouldnt mean she HAS to have kids! i get it. its fun! its cute! but why is it ALWAYS this—especially with hetero couples! you DO NOT have to have kids to be happy, wholesome, or "complete!" and its just so pressing that its ALWAYS the female who never presented as overly maternal or with the desire to have children just?? has them?? because?? like to fill the quota.

I honestly think about this for a loooooot of ships.

I love kid fics/family fics of course (Hell, I’ve written some), but I do always find it so weird how ship talks just go to, “Their kids would be soooo cute.” Even in anime/shows with powers, fans go, “Their children would be soooo OP.” I think it’s neat, but it does bother me at times that people always default to the idea that true happiness starts with beginning a family. Most love stories end with characters getting together because that’s the beauty of the journey itself.

Female characters getting the brunt of this is no shocker either—even for WLW relationships. As you said, the second they begin to display maternal attributes the shift just goes to how they’d be a great mother. It’s not even, “they’d be a great aunt,” or “mentor,” or even “role model.” It almost always defaults to motherhood. As if the value of having a standoffish/broody female character learning to be softer or kinder isn’t toward their growth, but their potential for motherhood.

A love story doesn’t need to be about the bells and whistles of getting married or even having kids. Sometimes a good love story is just living out your days with your favourite person and that’s it. And that’s fine.

I actually don't think the High Priestess fits Peebs all that well in general? Outside of the very surface level "this Tarot Card is named after a female authority Figure and 'The Empress' slot is already taken, so,,,'

Like, Princess Bubblegum detest relying on subconscious intuition, the mysteries of the unknown and spirituality. Her entire worldview is antithetical to the upright High Priestess.

She kinda fits better if you only look at her as a Reversed High Priestess... but it's still not a great match, only really in her denial of listening to her intuition. She's generally not lacking in knowledge or confused or superficial... It just feels like kind of a stretch.

(You know would actually make for a decent High Priestess leaning heavily but not exclusively on the Reversed Meaning? Lumpy Space Princess!)

The Magician, however, is a great fit for her!

The skills of creation, general resourcefulness and a great amount of willpower for Upright Symbolism, but also her tendencies to lie and manipulate for Reversed Symbolism.

The Magician is a great pick for Peebles! And I could also see her as a good fit for the Emperor as well, if you assume that's not the Vampire King already. (I generally assume that if he has a Tarot Card like the rest of his Court, that he's the Wheel of Fortune or maybe the Chariot.)
