Numenia and the Hurricane- releasing January 2020 with Page Street Kids
I started trying to draw children, or i started wrestling with trying to draw children. The first attempt.
This is my new Wall of Narrative! It is painted over with iron powder so that i can stick magnets on it. Its great for layout and picture book planning.
I’m very proud to say that I am now represented in America by Essie White of The Storm Literary Agency alongside some really wonderful kid lit writers and illustrators from all over the world! I’m really looking forward to seeing where this will take me. They are a boutique literary agency representing quality children's literature from exceptional authors and illustrators... Essie offers great feedback and much encouragement :-). Take a look at what Essie and Stacy do and read about the other artists and writers they represent:

From my mouse/duck pic. book. Mouse’s job is to dust the cobwebs and the paintings in his father’s cheese shop, whilst he dreams of going on an adventure and meeting the real polar bear. Page 2 or 3 I think. He and duck will eventually be rescued by the bear in the painting
From my mouse/duck pic. book. Mouse alone in his father’s cheese shop hears a noise and finds the intruder to be a somewhat bedraggled and frightened duck who has a taste for cheese (though he’s made of newspaper.) It was the spider’s web that was the hardest part. I ended up drawing it on paper with a biro pen and then scanning it in.Â
I am working on a dummy layout for my duck/mouse piece. I think this may be page 1. Its the first indoor scene I have done that is half way okay. (Mouse is sitting on a stack of cheese)
This is Stuffy and his friend mouse falling into the sea. The idea was that his wings being paper get too soggy and waterlogged and they fall in. I haven’t attempted to make the wings look soggy yet, seems like too great a challenge for tonight! I had tried to draw this before a while ago with a now discarded black swan character. I hope it works better now
Three mice going to Greenland, coming ashore
3 Mice going to Greenland, mouse character, new idea. This is Art, the leader since he has the finest whiskers which he embrocades daily so they gleam... As I always screw up feet/paws/toes/flippers/claws, I’ve just left them off for the moment.Â
The mysteries of a seal - both elegant and a fat tub of lard, hard to pin down! From my Stuffy the Newspaper Duck piece
My 3 mice going to Greenland piece... It’s a bit rough, I’m still practicing ice floes and midnight sun lighting. Â
This is from my three mice going to Greenland piece. The perspective from left to right slips a bit, I find it really hard drawing ice floesÂ
Stuffy and friends
This is my 3 mice going to Greenland. The fundamental problem with the picture is that the mice and their little boat are, if I am being exact, giants (or the mountain etc are all tiny.)
This is my 3 mice going to Greenland. It is an older unfinished piece which I fiddled with a bit. I’m still not sure if its finished. I tried adding fish leaping out of the waves, but it didn’t look quite right. The waves are a bit mushy.
