Fiona grew up with a lot of pressure on her due to her parents’ careers. Her mom worked in fashion & running a foundation to help raise money for assorted charities, her father a diplomat who often had to rub elbows with foreign dignitaries. This meant she often had to put on the well-behaved daughter act & tamp down her emotions. This was something that proved to be difficult for her as she never really felt in control of her emotions & would often result in an outburst of some sort.
She began using alcohol as a way to self-medicate at the age of fourteen. She went to rehab when she was seventeen & had to repeat her grade twelve year.
Their parents enrolled Fiona & Declan at Degrassi for a semester to give them the life experience of attending a public school. Once they moved back to New York, the scrutiny of the public eye was back on them & the pressure was too much for Fiona. She suffered a mental breakdown over the summer about a month before school started. Her parents got her some help & she went on some medication to help with her anxiety.
Once she started school at Vanderbilt, her mother conspired with the matriarch of a connected family to set up Fiona with their son, Bobby. She had a hard time fitting in at school, & her relationship with Bobby was very abusive both mentally & physically. She had a hard time speaking up about it & eventually ran away to her friend(s) in Toronto. She was able to convince her parents to let her transfer back to Degrassi & finished out high school there before enrolling at Winchester for college.
She was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder during the summer after graduation. She takes antidepressants & antianxiety medication.
recently, she’s had some issues with impulse control when it comes to shopping and has begun to accrue some debt.
