before i read the Silmarillion i though the Beren and Luthien story was just some boring romance, but oh boy was i wrong... like, Luthien is so immensely bad-ass and powerful, she told Sauron, to his face, to fuck off back to Morgoth and then *made his fortress collapse* with the power of her words alone

when she showed up in his Halls Mandos probably remembered what happened to Tol-in-Gauroth, went "nope, not risking that" and restored her and Beren asap

(ok i know that's not exactly the way professor tolkien told this story, but let a girl enjoy narrative elements in these trying times)

ok listen, i finally read the Silmarillion and both the Akallabêth as well as the whole episode with Celebrimbor have lead me to the conclusion that Sauron was hot af and seduced his way through the Powerful of middle earth (that is, until he lost his body in the Fall of Numenor), and i just had to draw something....
