It was inevitable but it really breaks my heart that Antoine DT is closing for good. The most inclusive branch had the best books, the biggest comics section and the biggest reading area in any library or venue in Lebanon. I remember the cafe fondly as it was the perfect place to sit and read. Had plenty of meetings there too. So many book signing. And the photo section was just immense and diverse. Not to mention that they had every magazine that was available in the Lebanese market. It’s a hole in the Lebanese cultural scene that was missing since the Beirut blast and will be hard to replace. قصتي مع فرع الأسواق من مكتبة انطوان كانت قصة عشق من اول نظرة. كمية الكتب، طريقة تقديمهم، تنوعهم، الاكسيسوارات يلي ملحقة بالقراءة، المجلات و البوستيرات. كانت بالفعل جنة لهواة القراءة. مكتبة بالمعنى الواسع. و قهوتها كانت مخلوقة للقراءة مع موقعها يلي بطِل على مقاهي الأسواق. كانت المكان المفضل لتوقيع الكتب الجديدة. صفوف من القراء ناطرين كلمة من كتابهم المفضلين. اقفالها دون احتمال الترميم او فتح فرع مصغر هو خسارة للثقافة بلبنان. @nabilismail.photojournalist https://www.instagram.com/p/Cgl3lapsIeu/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
