The Lord of the Izumi is sleep deprived carrying an entire Nation on her shoulders in this process of change, but then when Lin Beifong comes to visit she can finally relax, no matter if it is a short nap or if they are both still in their armor and projecting that harsh image of themselves to the rest of the world, her presence is enough to give her comfort to sleep and a soft smile will always be on her lips if some servant catches them unintentionally.

When Izumi lost her mother, Katara took on a mentor role to the future fire lord. Having developed a mother-daughter relationship, Katara ensured Izumi would become a strong fighter. Here they're practicing chi sao or sticky hands.

This is a forgotten scene from season 4 that I think we deserved—Fire Lord Izumi being approached by her son for aid against Kuvira.

This was just a little idea that sprouted up in my head, but my good friend @orangepanic pointed out that it’s @firelordizumiweek and todays prompt is “childhood”, and since this loosely fits (hello, childhood trauma!) I humbly submit this for the event.

Day 2 of the @firelordizumiweek: Intimacy. Intimacy is a close, familiar connection. Intimacy is closeness with another person, just like the intimacy that develops between friends when you tell another person your life story and all your secrets and dreams for the future.

Azulon was lonely. Izumi realized that he also felt as lonely as she did.

He was the only prince, no one else around him until he married Ilah.

Sozin had Seizan when they were young. Grandpa Iroh told her that Ozai was their companion growing up, Grandma always told how when they were just “Zuko and Azula” as a child and they played together all the time and then Kiyi came along and they were never alone.

Izumi had no one but for the first time in a long time she didn't feel so lonely while reading her great-grandfather's memories, too bad no one else agrees.
