you were born in the island and you've felt like it was your playground. you could go play outside for hours until your mother would call for you to come back inside. you were too young to understand when your mother became ill, you would see her cough, trying to hide whatever it was that was bothering her because when your father came home, it was alike she was healed again.

but eventually, it became too much. she couldn't hide it and your father tired everything. one night you got up from your bed and heard them talking. your father asking as to why your mother didn't tell him she was ill and her reply was, that they wanted another child for so long that she thought she could handle it.

unfortunately, your mother's illness took her soon after and all that was left was you and your father. it was tough, at first. he began practicing medicine at home and taking care of you at the same time and oh, he did everything despite the hardship. took you to the beach, cooked and read you stories until you fell asleep.

looking back, you were amazed at his strength and how he didn't give up or maybe you were the one that kept him going. as you grew older your interest in medicine grew as well and your father was more than happy to teach you. you've seen how your father treated his patients, with care about compassion and you wanted to be just like him. he was and still is truly your role model.

you went and got official training, you were excited and naive. looking to learn from the physician who themselves still learnt about medicine. you found out quickly that things were different, as you learnt you saw a physician do terrible things, things that were unforgivable and when you tried to tell someone they shut you out, so instead you took matter onto your own hands and poisoned the man that has caused harm.

you didn't stay to find out if you were caught and quickly boarded a pirate ship after begging for help and when you came back to the island you started treating patients on your own with the same care that love that your father taught you. but with the pirates flooding the island, the injuries you were seeing were more than battle scars. people came to you scared, some at all hours of the night for the fear of being seen. sudden flashback of the horror you've witness by a heartless doctor so and you? you've had enough.

it wasn't difficult to find whoever was causing the pain. it wasn't difficult to use your charms not was it to make them sick and pretend you were taking care of them and when they died? you felt nothing. you said nothing. you simply took care of a monster who was causing pain to others.

you are an angel, yes. but an angel that will strike down a devil. forever.

who are you? the whispers always found their way back to you, about how you were a phantom created by the sea or maybe you made a deal with a dead captain. the truth is boring, it always is. you are a man with no past, you woke up on the shores of tortuga clutching a letter you couldn’t read due to it being soaked and the ink smeared. the only thing that was legible was the name the letter was for, vidar. you had no feeling towards it but it was something to latch yourself onto.

injured and alone, you were found by a captain who asked you questions you did not know the answer to nor could you, your voice refused to make sound. the captain took you in and made sure your wounds were treated and when you tried to leave once healed, the captain forced to stay and fight for him, calling it returning the favor. a favor you didn’t sign up for but had little choice but to comply. you were made into a weapon with deadly precision and all you wanted was to be free of the invisible shackles that were put on you.

during this whole time, at night. you would dream. of a childhood that wasn’t your own, of other memories that must have belonged to a stranger. these dreams were mixed with nightmares you could not escape from. you felt cursed and you couldn't understand why.

the blood on your hands were familiar but they became too thick, you watch as your captain corrupted more and more people and something in you snapped. your captain was praising you, another task completed by his most trusted monstrous silent creature is when you stabbed him, his face was shocked and full of betrayal as if he didn’t made you this way, as if you owed him something for molding you who you became.

you left the crew and kept your head down, disappeared like a shadow and lived, for the first time since you woke up, a peaceful life. but piracy followed you no matter where you tried to hide. vidar the voiceless who killed his own captain, a shadow that cannot be found and false whispers of you looking for your own crew, a crew that will follow the guide of darkness, of a captain that will lead them of where they’re supposed to be. you’re no leader. you have no voice.

it started slowly, as if by finding you they’ve gained the right to join a crew that did not exist. for the first time since you could recall even words came to you, out of frustration and admiration. as if the harbinger demanded to have been made, with or without your permission. now here you are, with a crew who call you captain and people who fear the one who is voiceless.

friends to reluctant enemies — they've met before vidar founded the harbinger, when he was still a shadow walking alone. they've struck a friendship, however the years have brought them into different directions. vidar, as the captain of the harbinger and y/m as a member of either raider's revenge or the oathbreaker.

joining the harbinger — y/m is a civilian that has an interest in joining the pirate life, harbinger isn't looking at the moment but doesn't mean y/m can't try to proof themselves to the most fearless captain.
