“ Nah, it’s definitely what I go by. For the best y’know? Helps a helluva lot in this kind of work. Sure my face is out there but at least anything too personal isn’t. Besides I’d rather have people know me by that name than my actual one. There’s a lot more to it even if it’s simple. ” As he says this the Boss makes an attempt to try and remember how tea was even made. How embarrassing, especially as a first time client for this man. And so as the man spoke of knowing his work and his general opinions on the weaponry he used the Boss would nod along and smile oh so slightly from time to time.
However it isn’t until he’s asked what exactly he’s planning out here that the Boss really becomes attentive. What was his goal exactly? Sure expanding the Saints’ general territory and seeing who could be rounded up in any sort of alliance was ideal, but there wasn’t anything particularly set in stone. Everything was more or less up in the air, and depending on how a certain meeting would go in the future he wasn’t ready to get the ball rolling just yet. So he sits there for what seems like minutes upon minutes just trying to think up a response. And just when the silence was starting to feel like it went on for way too long he had his answer.
“ Well to tell you the truth I don’t have anything planned out yet. All I got are general ideas. Letting the Saints grow, maybe makin’ a couple of friends, moving up the ladder, and so on. Like I said ‘general ideas’. Shit that’s basically up in the air. Hell, doesn’t even sound like I’m all too confident, right? ” Whatever sense of nonchalance the Boss voiced had now been replaced by a far more serious tone. One that was firm and low. Incredibly sure of himself. “ I know I haven’t been doing this as long as some of the old-timers out there. The guys who are way more established than we are. But look at what we’ve done, who we’ve gone up against. I think I can safely say that once I get a better idea of how things work around here I’m gonna have a pretty fuckin’ good plan. So if you still want a solid answer from me I think the best I can give you is this…. ”
“ I’m here t’ make things a helluva lot more interesting. ”
It all made sense. After all, a face was just that... a face; something that could easily be concealed or altered. Perhaps a few habitual quirks could be seen through the cracks, but not if vaguely familiar. However, a name... that held so much weight and history that couldn’t be escaped from, even if changed. There was always a record. The simpler, the easier it made things and such a common yet enforced title was even better.
A few more keys were pressed as he waited, slowly a melody forming, but not too much. He didn’t want to interrupt right then or have to break himself if he had gotten more involved either. Hearing that there was no real answer yet actually had him more interested. He expected demands and such right away — at least that’s what usually happened. Not like he always listened anyway, but there was always a goal of side A vs side B and honestly it got old. As for whoever asked for business that wasn’t mostly trading, well he wasn’t going to talk about what happened to those folks. Some people just didn’t know how to keep a flame lit.
Tsurumi took the tea he had near him and took a longer gulp from it as he had heard the Boss give his reasoning. “That means it will be a process...” rather than the simple transaction once or twice before being finished either by blunt business or him ending it himself. That alone was more intriguing in a few ways. Despite all of the Boss’ accomplishments, hearing how he just adapted his way through things and made it work was endearing. There was that desire for power, but no actual resentful intent seeping from it, despite illegal activities. Tsurumi couldn’t predict much because of that. It kept him latched onto some thought process rather than waiting for the moment to turn everything down.
“Let me think about it.” However, he didn’t say when or how long he’d be. Instead his attention was given to the piano where he started to play; Tchaikovsky’s ‘Pathétique’, Adagio Lamentoso to be exact. No breaks were in between even with its length and it wasn’t clarified if he simply was ignoring the Boss or was testing his patience. It was just played throughout as if he were alone and spending his time like a normal day. Perhaps it was rude, but that didn’t seem to cross his mind.
For himself it felt like no time was passing at all, but once he was finally done he had laid his hands onto his lap and turned himself around on the bench he was seated on. “Seems like I haven’t accidentally slipped up so far since you’ve been here.” He simply smiled rather than explain what he meant by that. “My apologies, but to move along further we’re going to have to go on a bit of a walk. Hopefully the cold hasn’t been too harsh.” he had spoken casually as he stood up and walked on over to a simple storage cabinet to get himself his coat, as well as taking the time to slip gloves on, but not before taking a handkerchief to wipe his face, mainly around his plating. “You can tell me more about any plans if they arise in mind on our way or... have you gotten a chance to actually leisurely spend time here? I know most foreigners like to keep their visit in Honshu, particularly Tokyo.” With that said he opened the door after slipping his boots on and waited so he could lock up afterwards. “It’s too bright for me personally.”
