“Someone’s gotten cockier since the last time i’ve seen him,” not that Isaac minded at all, in fact he liked this new side of Cyrus. "You’d be wise to not make Steven Blackwell jealous,“ he laughed as he was spun and pulled in to dance, even as he heard the whispers in his ear. "Not that he’d get jealous anyway,” Isaac spoke fondly of his boyfriend, “he knows there’s nobody he needs to worry about stealing my affections…” He smirked leaning in to brush a kiss against the others lips, just a quick one before he continued to dance with Cyrus. "Believe me, this hit wouldn’t have hurt, you wouldn’t have felt it, you’d be dead instantly.“ He smirked as he spoke like it was nothing but really Steven probably had the ability to end someone with so much as a snap of his finger. "What’s got you so happy these days? I haven’t seen you like this in a while…I like it, smiling and being carefree really suits you.”
“Really? You think I’ve gotten cockier? Can I get a badge, or have you at least write that down somewhere so I can show my father, he’d probably be super proud.” A laugh lifted from Cyrus’s lips as he couldn’t help but smile at Isaac. The other made him feel so carefree in that instant. It had taken him so long to feel that way, to not worry about what the people on his father’s campaign trail would think about him, or how he should be presenting himself to others. Finally, this world was about himself, trying to make sure that he had fun in the process of whatever he wanted to do. “I said this with Jared, I’ll say this with Steven, and fuck I’d even say it if you were dating the pope, but you deserve the best Isaac, you deserve someone who is going to look at you like the you deserve the world, and you makes sure you get it.” He still didn’t trust Steven fully, but that was merely because he cared for Isaac so deeply”You wouldn’t have let him kill me- as much as you probably want me dead from time to time, you’d miss me.” His hand pulled up, fingers gently caressing the other’s cheek before returning the kiss, letting it linger just a bit longer than Isaac’s own had. “I’m tired, Isaac- I think that has something to do with it. I don’t want to be on edge anymore about who I am, and what I should and shouldn’t do. Reece really taught me a lot about happiness- and maybe one day we’ll find it together again- I don’t know. But for now, I’m going to go after happiness like he did.” Reece found happiness with the return of his daughter, and now Cyrus had so much of life to explore- part of that perhaps becoming president one day, but for now, he was taking it one day at a time.”Don’t worry- if Ryker every pops his head up around here one day, I’m sure you’ll find me at the bar alone- it’s like his presence just forces me there- magical really.” His hand lingered on the other’s cheek bone before letting it drop, wrapping around Isaac’s waist to keep them slowly moving together.
