Grossular Garnet from Dyes Inlet
A polished poppy jasper and green orbicular jasper from near La Push.
Lucky find today! A schist with small Garnets that I found on my beach. I know they're on the small side, but it's not a bad find for not having to leave the house.
A palm sized chunk of nephrite jade that I found on the beat at Indian Island park in Jefferson County, WA.
A large agate I found while searching my beach. It could use some cleaning, but I'm fond of the white shocks.
A palm-sized green jasper (?) I found on my beach in Dyes inlet while digging for clams. I really love the pattern.
My first attempt at lapidary work. I kept it simple to start with, and just tied it on an adjustable hemp cord. I’m not actually sure what kind of stone this is. Probably something quartzy
Bought some diamond wheels for my dremel to try my hand at some lapidary work. I know it's not the ideal tool, but it's a cheap way to start.
Heading up to Hansen Creek on thursday. Hope I find something good.
I got into collecting rocks and Gems because of all the polished stones I'd find I'm my yard as a kid. Turns out the house used to belong to some Russians who were into rockhounding. Thanks to you guys, wherever you are.
Petrified Wood Found adjacent to my yard, artificially placed.
Obsidian Found adjacent to my yard, placed unnaturally in the same manner as the clear quartz.
Clear Quartz Cluster Found adjacent to my yard, placed unnaturally.
Agate(?) Found on a beach in Dyes Inlet.
The Marymere Face I couldn't collect it due to its size, but I encountered this rock while walking the Marymere Falls trail near lake Crescent, Washington. I have no idea if it was carved or if nature just wore it down in exactly the right way.
Turritella Agate Found in my front yard (lucky me)
