Mew is prettier than tumblr’s GIFs. 🦄
(ps. dear @staff please make the gif quality better!! 😂) #poor-quality-gif
Definitely my favorite so far. I made him a bit smaller to use him in a resin fishbowl design, but I’m on the fence. I don’t want to lose all the details I added.
Gattsu is the wiggliest betta boy I’ve ever had! After 2 hours of editing, I’ve finally managed to gif a few clips of him before he hits mach speed…
so i’m back to the game and trying to focus more one that one than water change once a billion years *plannig to add more plants in pots, bc there’s only sand on the bottom and water lettuce for surface for sure*; also thinking about setting up a small once again bc i miss bettas sooo muuch
is there anyone here? let me know with some begginer advices, i think i forgot everything what to do with betta tank and tanks in general

Cleaned up my fishtank at work today! it is getting a little overgrown but I like it :)
Im thinking about growing some plants up and out of the top of it but who knows! for now im sure ill just enjoy it as is and think about adding some red stems for fun!
enjoy!
ain’t these kids just beautiful? found a super nice light set-up for their tank that gives these great dramatic shots ^^ (although the white patches on Herb make him practically glow)

Remember that all tetras are schooling species that need to live in groups of at least 6 to be comfortable- that’s why Rudolph here felt so out of place! They are very active swimmers and do best in long tanks at least holding 10 gallons of water volume. All species prefer soft water conditions, though a few like the common Neon Tetra can tolerate much higher than others. Of course, they are all tropical species and require heaters. The tetras in this short are just some of many species.
I wish you all and your aquatic critters a happy and safe Christmas. ;)
The best morning view! 🙌🏻 Ps. The Fish doesn't have name, still... if you have some nice ideas, write them to me!
The golden rule of keeping fish in a bowl

I get new gold fish today and she has one of her gill like that. Is it some kind of illnes, injury or she could be born like that? Could you help me?
Boost! I haven’t seen this before.
I could be wrong, since i am in no way expert, but I think it is probably something she was born with. Some fancy breeders cull them but others sell them to petshops. As far as I can tell (and again, there might be someone more experienced who knows better) you can’t really do anything for it. Some recommend bare bottom for fish like this, so the sand doesn’t irritate the uncovered gills.
Thank you, I'll watch her and if she get worse I will remove sand from there

I have seen this! It’s called gill curl, and is usually the result of poor water quality. Since you just got her, I would assume it’s just standard pet store care issues. Unfortunately, the only way to “fix it” is anesthetized surgery, and that’s usually something that people with large or oddball fish will invest in, as those fish can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars.
As far as I know, the only thing you can do is just make sure her new tank is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. Because the gill plate is open, she’s going to be more prone to fungal or bacterial infections in that area. Regular water testing is key, and I would honestly keep some antifungal medications (available at petsmart or petco) handy so if it happens you can catch it early and start treatment right away.
I hope she does well, and she’s definitely better off with you than in the pet store!
Thank you! 🙌🏻
