Growing up I didnt have a TV or a computer, but was still warned about the dangers of staring at a screen. Fast forwarding, I started college with perfect 20/20 vision. My major of choice was IT-Systems Administration. Two years in, I'm driving and realize that I cant see the street sign 20 feet away. I went to get my first ever eye exam and was told that I was now nearsighted. Curious about how this might have happened I told the doctor what I do for a living and for school. Being a computer technician, I spend 90% of every work day straining my eyes staring at a screen. I was informed about how my eyes were getting worse was most likely because of the blue light from the screens. So I'd like to take this moment to tell you to take care of your eyes. You only have 2 so be careful with them. I've learned that most modern devices have blue light filter options. Sometimes know as "Night Mode" as well. I have this turned on for every computer I stare at and my phone as well. Your screen will look yellow at first but you will get used to it.

Please take care of your eyes.
