The Norwegian’s tongue clicked with a sudden tsk before his hands moved up to take the Icelanders face between his hands, his gaze examining the others puckered expression. “I don’t have to assume anything.. I am looking at the same face I looked at ages ago..” The blond’s thumb smoothed over Erik’s chilled cheek, the resistance showed by his younger counterpart was amusing, but as those mumbled words escaped, the Norwegian lifted his hold on the other and backed off. “Haven’t I shown you enough love…? I care for you immensely. I have tried to keep you unjaded, innocent, wide eyed and ready to take of the world..” He paused before sighing. “Listen, Icey— If I could keep your eruptions from happening and protecting you from that too I would… What else do you want from me?”

The stare he sent him as he felt the hands over his cheeks was aggressive, working as a silent "let go of me". The blonde wasn't getting it, and because of that, his affectionate behavior was only making the Icelander bitter. "You should probably go see a doctor for your eyes then, because I assure you it's not the same.." He felt relieved when the other backed away, wich made him feel also somewhat guilty, but it gave him the assurance to talk back, poiting at him. "You need to listen. You keep talking about the past seeming so sad that I'm not a cute, needy little kid following you around everywhere, and sounding like the love you had for me back then is stronger than the love you hold for me now. You just seem so disappointed that I grew up... Open your eyes! That's what I want!" He paused, taking another step away from him. "I don't want you to love me and protect me as if I was just your cute, tiny little brother... ! I just..." He hesitated, before actually sighing. "No, I just guess I shouldn't complain, you're doing your best to show me affection and make me happy, right... right..."

I do know, that is why I added the "sometimes", I was mostly generalizing to all this family of our. Though you still do poke fun at me, no matter how often, so that count as bad humor!

"What I am saying is I missed you when you were a child.. You weren’t as insufferable as you are today." His tone took a rather crass turn but another kiss to the forehead could mask his irritation. "Let’s be honest, you probably miss the attention you got from myself, and Denmark.. You were very loved back then my little Prince."

"I'm not... insufferable..." or was he? He really didn't get the other's point in putting him down while praising his younger self, if all of this was just meant to upset him for fun and laughs, it was working. "And I don't see why you're bringing that up now." He turned his face away as soon as he felt the kiss on his forehead, not letting such a trick calm him down. "And don't assume things like that. And even if it was true, wich it isn't--" Eyes suddenly looked down, as he started mumbling. "It would just be a reason for you to actually show me more love or... something... I guess..."
