Our first New Years as Mr. and Mrs! Happy New Year! May 2016 be as exciting and full of blessings as 2015 has.
Super excited that I PR'd my hang squat clean and hit the triple digits!! The rest of the workouts didn't feel great. I've been fighting a headache all day, started a cramp in my hip toward the end of the row, and was just plain worn out after all of this today. I'm glad I persevered even if I'm not thrilled with my times. Another day in the books!
#mondaymotivation to start the day off right! Found this and it really hit home this morning. The only way to be successful is to work hard and give it time. There is no shortcut.
So glad my @sfh protein is here! Michael and I have been using this for over a year and LOVE ❤️❤️❤️ it! I didn't order in time and ran out of Fuel at the end of last week. I can definitely tell when I haven't been drinking my protein. Woohoo!!
Did 75 of these babies tonight! I can tell such an improvement on my form and ability to hit the 9' target! I did 5 sets of 5 back squat working up to 100lbs. For the WOD we did 3x 25 Russian kb swings 25 wall balls 400m run I used 35/10 and finished at 19:30! I can tell I wasn't nearly hydrated enough today! That run after the wall balls and squats about killed me!
Dinner was on point last night and tasted so great after a weekend of food that wasn't clean and balanced. Three blocks here of mustard glazed chicken, one block green beans, two blocks white rice. Also got in my first workout since Wednesday. I did 8 sets of 3 strict press at 55lb then our WOD was a 12 min amrap of clean and jerks and burpees over the bar. I was beat after that!
Down three pounds this week thanks to clean eating, good nutrition, and working hard at @crossfitlongview
Love Sundays! Started off with s great sermon at church, did our grocery shopping for the week, Michael grilled burgers, then he had a soccer game! His team won, so we are super happy for that! It's a beautiful day here! We also made it to the gym to get in our challenge workout for the week: 15 burpees, 800m run, 15 burpees. I did it in 8:24! Totally blew my goal out of the water!
Huge non scale victory for me today! I decided it was time to look for some new jeans and mine have been loose, so I thought I would try on a 12 and see how much further I have to go... Big surprise for me-they fit!! I tried on several pairs of 12 just to be sure, and yep! I'm firmly in a 12 for the first time since '07!
Stayed on point today with my #zonediet nutrition for the @crossfitlongview nutrition challenge! Day 1 was a success. Got in a great workout too! 60 cal row, 50 sit-ups, 40 box step overs, 30 pull-ups, 20 burpees in 18:26! Also did 8 sets of 3 front squats at 75lbs! How awesome would it be to really lose 15lbs in 5 weeks?

A funny picture from Saturday's 5k mud run! I did every obstacle but two! In this picture we had to jump into a dumpster of ice mud water. It was freezing! I'm so glad I got the opportunity to do this. Another big goal for the year checked off the list!
I know. Two memes in one post. 🙈 but you guys! It's finally the end of Wednesday, which means I'm halfway through my first week with the kids back. Today was the first day I made it to the gym this week, and man did I need it! I was so excited to make time for it today. I PR'd my hang squat clean at 80lbs! I've never excelled at squat cleans, much less hang ones so I'm pumped! I also did knees to chest 59 times tonight-my first time to ever do above knees to parallel consistently. I'm getting closer to those toes to bar! Michael grilled chicken and corn on the cob after Crossfit and I steamed some broccoli. Yum! (at CrossFit Longview)
Had a great day working in my classroom and doing some TEKS training. Today's tabata workout killed my quads!! I will definitely be sore tomorrow.
What a day! I got up early with Michael and ran a mile and a half before my first day back to work. Yay for training all day! Though I feel like I learned good stuff today. My eating was good today, and made it to a good lifting workout at the gym! An 18 minute emom of power cleans and squat clean thrusters then a 15 minute emom of 5 power cleans + 5 push jerks. Felt great today!!! Make your Monday count! 💪🏻💥🎉
Totally RX'd the WOD today! That rarely happens for me, so I was super excited!! Big thanks to Kristen @gunstarmom for running that 400m with me! She is the best coach, always encouraging and pushing me! This one was tough but so good. The sled push was fun. Going in, I didn't even think 80lbs would be doable. I love proving to myself I am stronger than I believe.
One of the things I miss most about the summers when I start back to work is getting to sometimes have lunch with my love. Can anyone guess which amazing salad this is? It's my favorite!! ❤️❤️ I haven't been to the gym in two days due to wedding appointments and I'm really feeling bad about it. I will be there in the morning @gunstarmom! Ready to get my sweat on!
