Dance The Routes Away
It was only when the stranger greeted them that Lucas realized he that he was probably staring a bit longer than he should have been. But who could blame him? Dancing down the route in Sinnoh was fairly unusual (plus he had no idea what song it was). Highwind simply gave an irritated sigh before he smacked the back of his trainer’s head - just a tap, to snap Lucas out of his ponderings.
Rubbing the spot where Highwind hit him, he gave the stranger a sheepish smile. “Hi,” he responded. “Um…what was that song you were singing?”
The actor laughs at the question and adjusts his visor. "You took an interest in my singing, huh? It was The Boys by Nicki Minaj and Cassie. I can't do it just as cool as those two but I'm pretty good."
Nate looks between the trainer and their pokemon and makes a funny face. A weird duo! Their partner has a sour look on their face while Lucas seemed much more timid. He shrugs it off, though. It's not worth judging over, especially if he's curious about the music. After all, he and Lola had their differences too.
"So what's the question for? Did'ja like it?"
"Yeah. I need… a BATTLE!" He yelled, and pointed a Pokéball at Nate. "Come on, let’s have one!!" He grinned.
"Huh...? Only a battle?" Nate frowns a bit and places his hands on his hips. "I ain't about that much anymore, sorry. We can do way cooler stuff than that."
'Mei-buns' though...
”Oh, hey, Nate. Uh, hanging out? Sure, I don’t have any plans, so I’m cool with that. Any ideas on where to go?” Being greeted by the sound of her old friend’s voice definitely lifted the Trainer’s mood; given that neither of them have really talked in a while, this was certainly a good surprise. Between their individual journeys, it was a challenge to get any time to just hang out as old friends, so this sounded like a nice break from traveling for Mei.
"Sweeeeet! That's what I was hoping to hear!"
He grins cheesily into the camera to exaggerate just how happy he was. While his plans for the day out were vague and not thought out especially well, Nate was just giddy to be able to be with Mei. They had all sorts of things to catch up on, that's for sure.
"Kay, well, I'll be honest with you 'n all-- I don't really know. But we can eat somewhere, go swimming, wrestle..? Whatever you wanna do, girlie, it's my treat."
Tourist Vibes
Optics blinked andRed ( unusually ) replied to the other in
a rather quick manner. ❝ Maps aren’t that difficult to read. ❞ Of course even if he was taught how to he still managed understanding it; but y now he has a good sense of direction due to wandering about Kanto for so long.
To reply to the second statement Red was contemplating whether he should give a straight up answer like, 'it's not that great really.' but he shall refrain from doing so and give another answer.
❝ Actually I think Saffron City is better — but I don’t like cities that much either way. ❞
"Well they're okay! It's cool when you got one that actually says where you are, though. Not too good at paying attention, you feel?"
He finds himself laughing. What a weird thing to pick at first... but he wasn't one to judge. There were plenty of times that the actor had done the same and that aside, he still had an answer to get.
"Saffron... I'll check that place out too, then. I mean-- I guess it's all up to personal opinions or whatever but any kinda personal recommendations are cool. Sometimes the best places to go are fancy caves!" Nate gives a shot at reeling in more names from the trainer while staring with an suspended interest. "Maybe I can even just tag along with you first and you can tell me all sorts of stuff!"
RUN! At The Disco
Gold had to laugh at Nate’s reaction. It was a bit odd to see someone who could still be so happy after such a dangerous situation - but it brought a great smile to Gold’s face. The upbeat attitude of the Unovian was contagious, and Gold was now giggling loudly from the ground.
"Hahaha! Well I’m glad being chased by angry Pokemon was fun for you! Though I wouldn’t recommend it as a regular thing." Gold suddenly sat up, rotating his neck and stretching his arms above his head. Although his body was aching from all the running, he was just too excited to stay on the ground any longer.
"Nice to meet you Nate! I’m Gold Hibiki!" Gold introduced himself, extending his hand out towards the brown-haired boy. "And this big guy over here is Tyberius!"
The enormous Typhlosion gave a small bark and sniffed at Nate, and then turned his snout towards Prince and gave him a few sniffs too. Tyberius let out a happy snort and then dropped to the ground lazily.
"Hah, guess he likes you!" Gold laughed aloud. "I’ve never seen a Pokemon like yours before! I’m guessing you’re not from Johto, are you?"
Laughter was certainly contagious, especially in Nate's case. He joins right in even if he doesn't know what's funny.
"Right back at ya. Gold, huh? Sounds like a good celebrity name!" He smacks the other's hand in a high five, missing the point of a hand shake, and snorts as their pokemon sniffs him over. "Fire types don't always fit what I do but talk about tough! Hehe... 'Sup, Ty?" The swimmer pats Tyberious as he moves on to check out Prince.
A noise rumbles out of the Dewott's throat. It's high in pitch and sounds similar to dripping water. He gets over his surprise quickly and makes himself appear as big as possible while the Typhlosion observes them. Prince rises up on his toes when the other pokemon sits and takes his turn to sniff back.
"Of course! Well, grumpy pokemon don't like me so much but I got a certain charm, y'know?" Nate flips his hair. Then, as he's prompted, he takes a glance at his partner before shaking his head. "Nope. Prince 'n I are from Unova! I've seen pokemon from other regions there before but nothin' like that. Guess you learn something new every day."
"We're just popping in to see the place. Staying in one spot gets old."

Regions Apart
Wally blinks, then chuckles. “Ah, sorry about that. I never really thought about it, though. I think it may be because the scenery around here is just too beautiful to put in a cinema to distract from it?” He shrugs. “But, hey, I’m no architect. Anyway, I wouldn’t say I’m ‘in charge’, but I am Champion here. Name’s Wally! What can I do for ya’?”
"I think a cinema or two would make it even more beautiful! Slap on some branches and it even matches all the nature." The boy laughs cheekily at his small joke. It'd probably look awful but if they really tried and worked on it, Hoenn could have some seriously great places to watch movies.
"Ah, so not quite? I always kinda assumed Champions got the pick of the lot, though, y'know? When you hear of a place you always hear about their prized trainer too!" Nate places his hands on his hips and winks. "Nice to meetcha! I'm Nate. I don' really need anything in particular. Though a V.I.P tour would be nice."
Dance The Routes Away
Lucas had noticed the boy singing happily a while ago, and he was wondering how he could be so cheerful - he hadn’t met a lot of trainers that could just sing while exploring like that. What song was it, anyway?
"Um…" Should he say something? Highwind was out with him, and he seemed to be a bit irritated by the singing and dancing, so…maybe he should? But what should he say…?
He'd never been too observant. When he was paying attention, maybe, but during a cool song verse? No way!
It was Lola who, with her large ears, heard the start of a quiet protest. She stops dancing and blinks rapidly, looking over the other boy and their angry pokemon.
"They cry.... On top of the world-- ....... Huh? What's the deal?" Nate realizes a few moments later that something had distracted her. He fumbles and backs up a few steps to where she was. Curious, he follows the Cinccino's line of sight until he understands. "Ohh, hey, other people! Yo!"
With a wide grin on his face, the Unova native waves at the strangers before him.
Sea vs Skies
There are a few that can! The piplup line, ducklette and swanna. Birds of prey like Pidgeot and even Unfezant dive into water to catch their prey. As long as they have water resistant feathers they can be in the water for extended periods of time, but only few can really swim.
"Huh....."
"Huuuuh.... I guess you're right there, bud! Dunno if diving real quick to get food counts though. I mean, I've dipped down to grab a bagel off the ground 'cause of the 5 second rule. Don't mean I'm a trash diver."
Nate laughs and smacks them on the shoulder.
"You're a good sport!"

"I don’t know who I’m gonna battle, but I’m gonna become great friend with…" He he whirled around quickly. "…good friends with THAT PERSON!" He declared, objectively pointing his finger to someone behind him.
...........................
.......................... "Eh?"
Nate stops mid-step and turns his head towards the finger extended in his direction. 'THAT PERSON' was all he managed to overhear. Was he in trouble? No, no... that wouldn't make sense. Maybe it was a fan!
"Yes, I'm a person. Hello!" The actor throws his arms up in the air and then out to his sides, the foot he was about to step with now higher in the air as he poses. "You need somethin'?"
[Not sure why but I feel drained... I'll have to get to replies tomorrow I think. Sorry!]
RUN! At The Disco
Gold felt his heart race as it always did in the middle of a truly epic battle. While he preferred to be fighting in a more controlled environment against another trainer, this still got the adrenaline coursing through his veins and sent a sharp jolt of excitement down his spine.
He watched as Dewott appeared and proved a feisty challenge for the Beedrills. Luckily the Beedrill, while more evolved, weren’t on a very high level and were being beaten back by the combination of Fire and Water. Razor sharp shells sliced at the Bees, and waves of Flames erupted forth to knock down a few others.
Soon what was left of the swarm turned tail and ran back to the grass away, still buzzing angrily. Gold let out an enormous sigh of relief as he collapsed to the ground, falling ungracefully on his behind and then finally laying back completely with his arms extended to the side.
"I am sooooo glad that’s over!" Gold let out an enormous sigh of relief. He slowly sat up as Tyberius walked over and nudged him with his head, and Gold happily patted the bear, scratching behind his ear. "You did a good job, big guy!"
Then he looked over at Nate and Prince and grinned. “And I owe you my thanks too! Without the help I definitely would have ended up stuck full of pins and poison - and that’s not a nice experience!”
The moment the Beedrill left, the brunet punches a fist in the air, his pokemon following suit before they gave each other a double high five. They still got it! It had been a while since they had any direct battle practice so it was a huge accomplishment.
"You did great! I betcha the rest of 'em will spread rumors about how tough you are to other Beedrill." He snickers, laying out an epilogue for their victory which motivated the Dewott even more.
"Dew--! Dewott!" Prince displays a couple kicks before posing. It was a little showy but that was a pretty good word for the two of them.
Nate turns finally when he's directly addressed and the Unovian moves closer, sitting on his knees beside their new friend. He laughs and pats the other's shoulder firmly. Who knows how long Gold had been trying to escape from those angry pokemon, he must be completely worn out... if it wasn't obvious as he laid out on the ground.
"No problem! That was the most exciting thing I got to do since I came here. Your pokemon is so damn cool too, I'm glad you ran in my direction. Heh, I'd say we make a good team! How's about we be besties? I'm Nate." He flashes a peace sign next to his cheek as he leans over the other boy.
RUN! At The Disco
"A fight’s all we need!" Gold called out as he reached into his bag and pulled out the first Pokeball he had ever received. Years of memories came pouring back as he thought of Tyberius, and Gold suddenly came to a halt and spun around, tossing out his Pokeball! In a blinding flash of light, the enormous Fire-Type bear appeared with a great roar.
"Tyberius, use your Flamethrower - and hurrrrry!" Gold yelled out as the Beedrill caught up, the buzzing now a deafening roar around them as the Pokemon charged - right into a stream of fire that knocked one of them down.
"Dewott, huh? Never heard of it, but let’s see what he can do!" Gold said to Nate with a grin. He always liked seeing other Pokemon, even if now was an inappropriate time to be impressed.
"I don’t suppose he knows any ice attacks, does he?" Gold asked as he had to dodge from one of the Beedrill, which fired an enormous Pin Missile right at his head.
Wow---! He turns on his heel and watches in awe as the towering pokemon lands on the ground and deals a massive stream of fire. It was definitely powerful, Nate wouldn't be surprised if this guy went down Rosa's path and became some sort of battling icon. They just looked great together, like a perfect match!
At the question, he shakes his head. "Nah, sorry- but we'll blow 'em away our style!"
A Pin Missile just skins his arm and brings the boy back to reality. In the same fluid movement, he throws out his pokeball and reveals a feisty Otter equipped with finely sharp shells. While he wasn't as large or as high a level as the other's Typhlosion was, he stood with the confidence of a pokemon that was.
"Prince, this is the real deal! Water Pulse!" The Dewott barks and emits a large, pulsating stream which hits the front line of Beedrill, one falling to Confusion. "Don't stop--! Razor Shell!" The two shells at his hips are thrown out, smacking two individually along their path.
The attacks kept streaming in from the angry pokemon they were facing. Prince was agile from swimming but takes damage regardless. Even the best at martial arts couldn't dodge that many missiles. In the same way, Nate was frantically dodging every which way. He was lucky that their partners were taking up most of their attention now.
RUN! At The Disco
Gold could already feel his legs starting to protest from the constant running. While this was nothing new for him - his terrible luck had insured this was hardly the first time he had ended up running for his life - he had been at it for quite a while already and did not know how much longer he could keep this up for.
At the pun from the boy beside him, Gold closed his eyes for a moment and tried not to laugh - this was definitely not the time for laughter, he needed all of the precious oxygen his lungs could take in to keep propelling him forward and away from the enormous stingers that threatened to turn his backside into a pincushion.
"Ah!" Gold was shaken out of his fears when the brown-haired male brought up the possibility of using their Pokemon. While he had initially hoped to do that, the sheer number of Beedrill had made him reconsider. Typhlosion was strong, but against a swarm this size he would not be enough - but with a little help.
"Good idea!" Gold shouted over. "I have Pokemon, but I didn’t want to fight them all alone - but maybe between the two of us we can overpower them! It’s that or run until I collapse… which could be soon!"
The athlete grins wide, nodding as the other speaks. It was settled, then! Pokemon would save the day- Riolu Dewott Boy, time to shine!
"I like the first idea best! I ain't no guy from the League but I can put up a fight..!" Nate grabs the messenger bag that was hitting against his hip and sticks a hand in, feeling for the right pokeball. It took a fair bit of shuffling around, especially with not being able to peer in with fear of tripping, but ta-daaa! We're in business!
He pulls out the ball and lets the bag swing behind him again, proudly displaying it to the other. "I got'a Dewott in here-- it's a Water type, if ya don't know it. He's pretty tough so I'm ready when you are!" It was clear by the shine in the foreigner's eyes that he was rearing to go. If only gym battles were as fun, then maybe he'd be champion!
"If things don't go right, I'll toss out some other pokemon too. I got like 4 others. How many Beedrill do you reckon there are?" His other partners weren't as strong as the one he planned to send out currently but numbers could definitely help in a predicament like this, it's good to be prepared.
