Being able to work with NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR Brenda Jackson has always been a treat. Not too long ago, I was able to direct a book trailer to promote her most recent #novel BANE. Goodness! I wasn't prepared for the impassioned responses! Our successful production definitely helped to create interest in the famed romance novelist's works. To create the military scenes, we filmed in the woods...right after a rainy day! GOODNESS! We had our work cut out for us! Check it out!

DEFINITELY A MAJOR #THROWBACK! Even though it's not THURSDAY! I'm in awe as I remember that it has been almost twenty years since I've helmed my first #musicvideo. In 2005, I was just out of film school and looking to helm fun productions. I approached the #awardwinning and local superstar #musician TRACY SHEDD to produce and direct her project. She suggested the beautiful song "JUMPING WAVES." I tried to get creative with the visuals. The song is very relaxing, hypnotic, and poised, so I thought it would work best as a period piece. We filmed for two days in a stunning historic Jacksonville neighborhood that matched the look I was going for. We had extras, vintage cars, props, etc. This production was a dream come true! WOW! We filmed on both #digitalvideo AND SUPER 8 film! The #directorofphotography was my fellow FSU FILM SCHOOL alum, the amazing Jennifer Braddock! She was great to work with! It's interesting to note that her brother, late musician Jason Braddock made a cameo as the mechanic. He got a period haircut and shaved his long beard for this role! I was so grateful for the community support. Nice times... This project is one of my favorites. I say it all of the time, PLEASE continue to support independent filmmakers! Your small actions can make their dreams come true! Also, check out my company's first logo!

These past few months have been rough, but I made time to attend the screening of the 2026 OSCAR-nominated film shorts. WJCT has definitely stepped up the plate in its local offerings of independent cinema! We still miss our SUNRAY CINEMA!
While there, I bumped into local #screenwriter Carolina Tygart! We crossed paths at a few other #film functions, but this young woman has goals! GOOD LUCK Carolina in everything that you do!

It just hit me the other day, that it’s been almost thirty years since I both graduated from high school and started my freshman year of college!
How time flies and things have definitely changed.
Dad is no longer around. Quite a few of my classmates and family members have passed, also. Technology has definitely improved, for better or worse.
I’m proud to say that I’m still focusing on my dreams of succeeding in the #filmindustry, with lots of steps forward and quite a few steps back. I’ve done quite a few notable projects with the hopes of doing more. Working in the arts is no joke!
My parents were right. Enjoy being a kid as long as possible. Don’t rush growing up.
