Crack
Wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey. Do you know what the crack is? What? It’s a crack. But I’ll tell you something funny. If you knock this wall down the crack would stay put ’cause the crack isn’t in the wall. Where is it then? Everywhere. And everything. It’s a split in the skin of the world. Two parts of space and time that should never have touched. Pressed together. Right here in the wall of your bedroom.
Eerie resemblance.
Tom
When C and I first started dating, we named a seagull who used to visit the window outside his room regularly Jeff.
This is Tom.
In the skies, in the sea
Double exposure!
Let your flags fly
Another chance composition courtesy of the camera.
Hello
Yup, the formula still works!
Spongebob
The weather we had was amazing! I wanted this picture to highlight the little dinghy in the bottom of the photo which was namely (and aptly coloured to match) Spongebob!
But by now we know that what I want and what the camera wants are generally quite different things...
Filter
This was taken in the living room of the AirB&B. Craig was busy with something and I was chilling on the sofa. I had wanted to take a picture of the clouds floating by in the skylight but of course the camera had different ideas re: exposure.
So happy that this photo turned out this way, with the skylight reflected in the cabinet behind me. This is also around when I decided that I needed a natural density filter for the camera - when I unearth the effort required to go research them.
I’m sure hidden in this is a metaphor for life and how sometimes the truth isn’t where it should be but somewhere else unexpected.
Green
Me struggling with being able to measure 10 cm from the lens. My initial targets were the two white flowers behind these leaves, but happy accident again!
Focus
This was taken on the first morning of us at our AirB&B near Penzance on our way to see our future wedding rings! Happy with the way this turned out.
The AirB&B was a tiny annex to a house which was something like a microhome. Really cosy but don’t think I could live there forever, haha.
Spilt paint
(not in frame, a bit of the paint actually painted to being spilt on the pavement)
This was literally a few feet away from Keyboard Warrior so I did not change any settings - yet look how this turned out.
Happy accident though - the vignette fits with the sentiment of the photo :)
Keyboard Warrior
I think it is very easy to condemn other people, but I think that we have all been guilty of this at some point or another...
Bare Grills
Ha. Ha. Ha.
This was the first time I ignored the viewfinder
Robbie
As per our tradition whenever we come to a seaside town, Craig wins me something at an arcade <3 He got this at his first go! We have named him Robbie :D
The grand pier was generally a disappointment, although we did stumble upon the Museum of Memories which was an amazing surprise! Totally worth the 3 pounds!! I was so nostalgic at the sight of an old school glass Ribena bottle!
I also tried my hand at pinball machines for the first time - great fun! I can see how they would appeal to people. There is something magical about the pings and lights and how everything is so... mechanical.
Also note how this is underexposed. Ugh.
Moody
This was very disappointing for me - and the beginning of me realising that this camera can be a temperamental little bitch! I had expected to be in the bottom right of the frame as per the viewfinder (which I have now stopped using), and for everything to be a bit more exposed (sadly I cannot remember which exposure setting I had chosen - I suspect it was 0)
There were so many seagulls!!
PS. what further mystified me is that this was taken a few minutes after the shot of us was taken in identical conditions and exposure - WHAT GIVES?!!?
Weston-super-Mare
This thankfully marks the beginning of a flurry our *actually* annual leave and a few days of having great fun at taking photographs!
Also confirmation re: my previously tested formula of wefies! :D
I love it that a place has the word ‘super’ in it - it also sounds like a superhero/ music fest :D
Hands
A pseudo-artsy shot
*insert mega cheesy quote about how these pair of hands are constantly building us a wonderful life*
On a lighter (HA!) note - we can now see when we’re in the living room! Yay to our new ceiling lights!!
Thank you C <3
