I was taken aback less by the fact that I crossed paths with her at this unusual spot at this unusual time than by the fact that nobody in the store seemed to care. She was just another customer. To me, it would be on par with running into Joni Mitchell at a gas station. This magical creature, this magician of words, cannot possibly be a real human, standing here comparing kombuchas.
