So, fan translation for LOVE-BULLET Chapter 15 has finally arrived (praise be to Space Sancho & Co. for their work) and hooooo boy do I have some thoughts.
MAJOR SPOILERS for Ch. 15 under the cut, you have been warned.
Alright so, first off: Ena. My precious baby they did you so dirty you did not deserve any of the shit they put you through. You were clever and kind and cool af
Secondly: Sae when I fucking get you for what you did to Ena
Because this chapter, "Loop 0," revealed exactly how Hasumi Ena died. And it's all Sae's fault
Sae, a Cupid, deliberately isolated and tormented Ena for goddess-knows how long, pulling the strings so that her classmates and even her teacher would forget about her at best. All leading up to this instantly iconic page:
She died; buried alive, because she refused to abandon even Sae, who conveniently disappeared when the landslide began. And who's face is the first that Ena sees when her new life begins? That's right: Sae.
I've no choice but to believe that this was Sae's ultimate goal. That, for some reason, Sae singled out Ena and made sure she would become a Cupid.
Because why else would she isolate her so thoroughly? Why else would she be looking for Ena after the landslide?
Also I just—I can't get over these parallels look at this:
The color inversions, the shots of their eyes as they gasp for breath. The expressions on Kanna's and Sae's faces. The uses of the Cupids' "new" names.
Even the tag lines on the side mirror each other, in a way. For Koharu, it reads "What lies beyond regret is 'life' as a Cupid," but for Ena, "Even after death, there's no escape..."
Narrative parallels my beloved <3
We're just not gonna think about how Kanna paralleling Sae could imply that Kanna had something to do with Koharu's death
inee-sensei is doing some outstanding work here and I cannot wait to see how it develops.
