Disclaimer: I do not support Qwel or Dandys world the actual game. This au is a passion project that I've spent a long time developing and do not wish to simply abandon.

Can I ask how demons and possibly anything connected to demons work in this AU?

Like is there a hierarchy? Different kinds of species? Just an idea of what they do, since they'd be important to the story in some way or another.

Ok, but prepare to read. Ahem.

Demons work in a pecking order hierarchy based around intelligence and power. But mostly power. From lowest to highest:

Imps -> Demons -> Devils -> Lucifer [Only one]

With everything below a Devil being capable of evolving into a "higher rank", but are typically suppressed by said higher power.

Along with a sub-category of creatures dubbed Hellspawns, which are typically unintelligent underworld creatures that can reach the power of demons, but are still considered animals.

Anyway, for various reasons and with many methods, demons are capable of entering the overworld and USUALLY cause problems. They're not inherently evil, but their birth place, customs, and traditions instill them to be cruel and find joy in chaos by default. With Gigi being a sort of rare exception.

While the whole spectrum of demons do not waver heavier in terms of appearance, (Kinda, they can take on the appearance of many overworld races) their main way of defining their rank as an underworld being is the size of their horns.

Gigis horns, for example, are not that big or defined. No grooves, no particular shape, typical imp horns.

I plan to have demons show up in all sorts of ways. Connies first real adventure involves unintentional hellspawn summoning. So you know.

What do these special weapons do, that can help us get an idea of what to name them?

The daggers have no special properties other than being extremely durable and being able to lock together by the end of the hilts. However, they were made for Connie with her telekinesis in mind.

The staff is made of the same material as the daggers and DOES have an enchantment. It allows it to shrink into travel size or only slighty for comfortability. The white line end of the staff holds a crystal that can be open and closed to change the weapon from a melee staff to a magic staff. Not saying who thats for.

Personal mail slots.

Pricey enchanted blocks that are able to send and receive letters from any distance. They're called pricey due to its creation involving spatial enchantments. But they're great for travelers, long distance partners, and/or family.

If you have more than one, its best to either engrave names on them or have each made of different material. Or both. Probably both.

Well what ships are canon also what's Gigi in this au?

Gigi is an imp.

And only three for now. Bobette x Dandy, Goob x Yatta, and Teagan x Rodger. MAYBE Soulvester x Bassie, but that's it. I dont count Connie and Cuburt as a typical ship since. You know. Oc.

And Shrimpo... has a situation were not gonna talk about yet.

I'm not against it, but I dont have any ships that are front and center yuri. Probably just stuff like background characters and or couples.

Honestly, there isn't too much to say. They might just be the normal ones by comparison. They're just a trio of young adults who decided to register as "official" adventurers together. [Cuburt is an unregistered adventure. He does not get paid]

And they decided to follow Goob after he saves them from messing up their first quest.

Only Blot and Yatta have affinities. And they're variants of the base elements. Reminder, there are more than the base 8.

Blot - Ink (Variant of Water)

Yatta - Fireworks (Variant of Fire)

While Ink isn't a new kind of affinity, its rare but has been seen, Yatta seems to be the only person currently alive or known to have the strange affinity of Fireworks. Its even debatable that it IS an affinity. But you cant argue how she makes things explode with color and a flair.

So like how many "arcs" are there gonna be in this story and if we may know, what are they

I dont know how to define an arc. I'm thinking about in order of encounters and events. Like, the first two "adventures" is just a mini training arc for Connie since she's a greenhorn and later they engage in demon shenanigans with Shrimpo and his small village.

So i'm just gonna call them "events" for now. And I have about 6 or 7 mapped out in proper order.

I feel like Shelly would be more interested in disassembling Vee more than anything

I mean, sure. But she would also understand that she's fully sentient. And that complicates the ethics of doing that. Plus, I honestly think Shelly would lose if they fought.

Shelly isn't really a fighter and Vee was made with combat on mind.

I just realized. Literally all the party members except Connie don't have parents. They either died, they never knew them, or was abandoned by them.

Dandys parents passed when he was a baby and he was raised by his tribe, Gigi wasn't born with parents due to underworld methods, Bobettes dad died fighting a monster while her mom died from an illness, and Eggson parents just died naturally because hes OLD.

I don't think I have the right to talk about Sprig or Pandora. That's two different can of beans and neither is great.

They are not. I've stated before, i'm not a fan of Shellvision to begin with. But also.

Depending on how this goes, Alan Jr. may be added to Cuburts 5 years. 5 years being the time he started out as an adventurer.

Year 1 - He met a dragon and got a scale out of it.

Year 2 - He met Brightney and started learning about runes.

Year 3 - Depends.

Year 4 - Attended Blake's village festival and met Mavis.

Year 5 - Current journey events.

Dont feel obligated, but i'm hoping I can rope this into his reasons for studying neutral magic

A whole family of adventurers that ride in their own moving fortress (it's just a more fantastical combination of a caravan and a wagon.) That are as normal as you can get, but not at the same time. As all of them are not only good with neutral magic. They rely on it to make things they have work.

Basically, their whole family, has no affinities, but they still kick ass because they know and have created various spells for multiple uses. Like how they even continue controlling and moving their caravan without a horse or another animal. Or how despite their ages at that time, can easily carry a shoulder over their head.

Honestly, they sound perfect to put in Cuburt's 5 years. Probably around year 2-3 sounds good to place his first meetings at.
