What are BuddyBate buttons and stickers?
We had another couple of messages from followers/readers this week about the posts regarding BuddyBate buttons, so we thought we’d add another post here to explain the project.

We started the BuddyBate button project in 2018 as a way for guys to find each other in their town or city. You might be familiar with the “hankie code” of the past, where guys would put a colored hankie in their left or right back pocket to indicate they were open to encounters specifically relating to what the color meant.
The BuddyBate button was intended to be similar, just a secretive way for guys to discreetly show their love of masturbation and their interest in finding other guys to share their hobby. It’s about bonding, friendship, camaraderie and horniness. It’s just good clean fun between guys whether you’re gay, straight, bisexual or curious. Our ethos has always been that it’s healthy and fun, all guys do it, so why not share the experience?
The design is unique and intentionally subtle so that only those who bought them know what they look like. There are no indications on the item regarding what it’s about, it simply mentions a “Social Club”. No one who is unfamiliar with the project and the buttons would have any idea what they are and if anyone asks about it they’re vague enough for you to make any excuse you like.
We initially imagined the project would naturally focus on one major city where we know a large community of bators exists (where existing clubs exist) like London, New York or LA. Instead, we were soon inundated with orders from bators all across the UK and US. Canadian bators appeared, a few in Europe, then we started to get demands for shipping to Australia.
It soon became clear that what we imagined might be a little niche project for a large city was more global. We created the BuddyBate map so readers could see where orders were going. This was a great way to increase interaction and encourage others to participate in the project.

Readers began to request stickers for their cars and windows, then smaller stickers they could put on their locker at work or their water bottle at the gym.
In the last couple of months we’ve been hearing from readers who have found other guys wearing the buttons or showing off a sticker. Guys have met each other at the gym, at work, serving customers in stores, found buddies at college, on their sports team, one even discovered his good buddy of several years had a sticker on his dashboard and they started watching porn and jacking off together that night.
We’ve shared a few of these stories on the BuddyBate blog, but there will be more to share in the future.
The changes Tumblr made last year reduced our reach, but readers have been helping out by spreading the word about the BuddyBate project through other means, mentioning it in adult forums, on tube sites, giving links to our map in emails to existing bator buddies of theirs… we hope that will continue.
It’s been an amazing experience, knowing that this little project of ours is helping guys to meet socially for bate fun and friendship is awesome. It’s been more successful than we anticipated and we hope that this continues for the foreseeable future.
