If you absolutely must date a cop, for whatever personal reason, who am I to say, remember this one thing. Itâs funny to joke that all cops are bottoms.
But if theyâre a top, male OR female, run. Domestic abuse is no joke. Domestic abuse from someone who has the power of the state and ability to make any effort to cease it vanish? Terrifying. Real.
Just run
I know what youâre thinking
âBeing a top/domâ isnât domestic abuse, and you are correct itâs not. How ever, police officers are told from the get go, do whatever it is you need to do go get what needs done doneâ
That seeps into your emotional core as a person.
Police get off on harmful things, big and small all the time. Itâs comradery to help each other out of binds.
Domestic abuse in police households is an astoundingly high percentage.
Keep safe and notice the signs. Be aware of red flags. Donât try to change them, change your course instead

Things are not black and white!! There are more choices than âlet all cishets into all lgbtq safe spacesâ and âturn away people who could be in need of resources we can provide purely out of principleâ. You can have safe spaces and still look at things with the view of trying to help people who need help. If an ace person has been hurt and can be helped in a way that the lgbtq community can accommodate why shouldnât we?? Because itâs not our problem? Because âitâs actually just misogynyâ? Well I donât fucking care. That person is hurting in a way that we can help with and we by all means should. Have some compassion. Iâve heard that the lgbtq community isnât some fun club you can just join whenever you want too many times to count, yet thatâs what exclus act like. They donât care if you can be helped by being part of the community they only care that you identify a certain way and only then are you deserving of community and solidarity. You can fight homophobia and transphobia while also not turning away anybody else who needs help. You are directly harming the people you turn away whether you think itâs your problem or not.
@kermitâdyke @robocourse Iâm not arguing about this anymore but I want you to at least think about the people you turn away and the possibility of there being more than one right answer- keeping safe spaces and helping people in need
if youre ugly and been called names, youre lgbt nowÂ
hâŠ. You do know that the LGBT community is for people who like⊠arenât straight and/or cisgender????Specifically people targeted by homo/bi/lesbo/transphobia Lmao if aces can be gay/lesbian/bi and/or trans/nb then they can be cishet. If they are cishet then they arenât lgbt, simple as that!
Ogh forgot to add this but LGBT people can support ace people? But that doesnât mean we have to let them into our community when they arenât entitled to it :-)
^^^ Thank you Cherry!!!
Also @lesbie-vague do you think we should let naziâs into Jewish community centers? Racists into the NAACP? No. Then it stops being a safe space. Same with cishets in LGBT centers/bars/clubs/organizations
Look, idk if youâre white or Black or whatever but you just made a seriously bad, fucked up argument and as someone whom is actually Black and involved in activism work I feel like I need to explain why your argument is bad.
So I wonât even get into your conflating Straight people with homophobes as people in the notes have already done. Like some other people have pointed out, a more apt comparison would be if your example was about letting actual homophobes in, not just âcishetsâ. Itâs entirely possible to be straight and not be homophobic.
I donât want to say you made this bad logical leap intentionally, but I do find it odd that for Jewish orgs and the NAACP, you specifically say racist and Nazi, two things that are intentional decisions in how one acts. But for LGBT spaces, you just said âcishetâ as though thatâs automatically the same as being homophobic and also as though being Straight is a conscious decision. Why didnât you say White people or gentiles in your other two examples? That wouldnât necessarily make your argument compelling (for reasons Iâm about to address), but it would make it more compelling than it is now. Could it be that this was a concious, will full decision because youâre already well aware that NAACP and Jewish orgs DO include allies not of that group and you see this as alright, but call into question when LGBT orgs do the same? It doesnât really matter to me if you do, but explicitly say such. Because not addressing WHY you think itâs okay for those groups to include their allies but not LGBT orgs makes you seem hippocritical. Defend your statement better.
Now, I want to talk about the NAACPâŠdo you actually know what it is and the history behind it and similar orgs? Cuz you call it a safe space but it isnât. By your own logic, it isnât a safe space. Youâre saying LGBT orgs canât remain safe spaces if they allow Straight people in for ANY reason. But the NAACP actually allows WHITE PEOPLE in. They can become members, they can go to events, Iâve even known cases when they become leaders. AndâŠ.you do know the NAACP was STARTED by White people, yeah? Of the three founders, only one of them was Black, W.E.B Dubois. Which is one of many reasons a lot of Black people still distrust the org. If a safe space cannot include members of the privileged identity (a sentiment which I share) then the very org you listed cannot be considered a safe space in the first place. And if you actually knew about the NAACP, then youâd realize why making this argument was a bad move.
Additionally, I want to point out that this post isnât saying let in straight people. Itâs saying to assist when possible, people that many recognize as straight but still have to deal with their own marginalization in society. No matter what you think about aces, to deny that they are marginalized does a disservice to our experiences. We have high rates of sexual assault, we are actively ostracized by our families, peers, and in some cases religious communities, and our experiences are so heavily pathologized that many of us have actually experienced being foreced to undergo psychological and medical âtreatmentâ that we neither need nor desire. If you think SOME of us have Straight privilege (cuz remember, there really arenât that many Ace people that ID with a het attraction, and many of the ones that do are never anywhere near LGBT spaces in the first place), thatâs fine for the sake of this debate. But youâre STILL wrong. Because both groups that you listed in your example actually use their resources to assist people whom are on an axis of privilege to them while still being marginalized in their own way. Black people can be gentiles and Jews can be white and our communities STILL have histories of assisting each other in the ways that they can. Because theyâre able to recognize that, even though the other group has privilege on an axis that they donât, they donât always have full benefit of that privilege and will sometimes need help. And that is ALL the OP is saying; that even though SOME aces may have Straight privilege, their is nothing wrong with helping them if we can. If we know and can prove, for example, that an ace person is experiencing abuse in their relationships, family, and peers for being marked as non-normative and are considering suicide, and literally no existing suicide hotline is equipped to deal with ANY of what theyâre going through, then why should LGBT suicide hotlines NOT use their experience in working with similar cases to assist Ace people considering suicide? Itâs precisely the same as when Jewish lawyers with familiarity in working discrimination cases for Jews assist legal cases for Black people filing discrimination suits. The OP is talking about admitting that there is overlap between the dynamics of LGBT oppression and ace marginilazation, and using the resources and experience that LGBT orgs have built up for years to assist in the consequences of the marginilazation some Ace people experience. And you lot come here and act like theyâre saying that FULLY straight people should be allowed in actual safe spaces when that is not at all what theyâre saying.
Look, I already know that everything Iâm saying about Ace marginalization and how LGBT orgs can assist them is going to be ignored here. But at the very LEAST, recognize that your argument here is bad. You brought up Jewish orgs and the NAACP as nothing more than buzzwords to bolster your argument. You blatantly ignored how they include privileged allies in their work and actively assist marginalized communities with some privilege over their own because it did not fit the narrative you were trying to employ. You situated het Ace people as actual, violent bigots that intentionally employ violence against the communities those orgs were trying to help. And you blatantly ignored the undeniable fact that the NAACP and similar orgs not only include white people, but also aids groups that include white people. And you did all of this because you believed you were making an easy argument. You wanted to manipulate the hypervisibility of Jews and POC in social justice circles so that you wouldnât have to make an effective argument, everyone else would have to or else risk being accused of racism and anti-Semitism. You used Jews and PoC (specifically Black people) as props. What you did is wrong. Own that shit.
