Well if you had that fear, why would you bother even mentioning that you had that information? Doing that is putting yourself in unessasary danger.

I wouldn’t use information like this against anyone. I just want to protect the future.
Unnecessary danger, maybe, but my word has a lot of meaning. It wouldn't be difficult to steer potential danger into the wrong direction, should that be what I have to do.
