We definitely underestimate matty's role in the harem - they were always practicing with each other, talking, and giggling throughout the three hours. Only when matty was away for a game would he talk with other guys:

We need to discuss more the "other than golf, I love wiffle ball, basketball, football" mention in the EA interview - my sense is that wiffle ball is not huge at all in BC (and also the bay area), and we saw how unfamiliar mack was with baseball in that giants video last year. Yet he named it first, before basketball and football which he's deeply connected with.

AND we know will played wiffle ball with the bc boys on july 4th.

All contracts today don't look that bad assuming that the young Ds (dickinson, verheoff, lin, pohl, cags) develop fast enough before their ELCs end. The only way these contracts could backfire a couple years later is if these overpaid veterans are gone but still none of the young cores is competitive enough as 1D. Then sjs will be left with little asset to trade for top Ds. Given the low yield rate of top Ds, it's hard to say whether MG's confidence for our current young Ds is substantiated or delusional (we hope not!)

The fact that this trade only becomes an option after the tkachuk move has been made which is literally two days ago. MG made a decision probably within a day and ekky was probably (and hopefully) told a couple hours before the announcement went out. I genuinely wish he sees sens as a somewhat good destination cuz imagine processing everything all at once...

I don't like this trade... Eklund for 9OA? If you HAVE to trade him at least bring a D that can be directly plugged in next season - all the high pick Ds won't start until 2027

To add on a little bit, I understand that sharks is not a serious contender for the cup in at least 2 years, but if the trade leads to a weak season it will really hurt the morale. Players need to see progress to believe that this is the right team, especially as others are trading like crazy to create super teams.

I know ppl are hyped about the trade but honestly I don't think this suggests anything - kesselring is a mediocre D man who didn't want to stay with sabres anyways... It also doesn't reveal the 2oa pick because all the first-round Ds are not gonna play right away next season so we need several Ds no matter what

I think these two are just not in the bay area today - if some of the veterans are leaving next year and this is the last team event they for sure wouldn't miss it. Is the Chicago photo we got yesterday a live update? Also will kinda said his training will start in May so there seems to be no rush going back to boston.
