Free Mujin Choi
Hi there, my Anon family and non-Anon family-- I am Red Sage Aziraphale and I am starting a fundraiser to help a fellow water warrior from Standing Rock. I introduce to you, Mujin Choi.
Mujin Choi is a Korean magnetic energy and telekinesis healer who additionally practices reiki. He had given up everything and followed his calling to Standing Rock to offer his energy and talents to fellow water warriors that needed assistance.
I met Mujin on Friday, November 4th 2016 at the Medic Tent. I was brought there by a friend of mine and was waiting beside a fire to have body mapping practiced on me. I took part of an action that caused IT band damage and was recommended to wait at the medic tent to both heal and alleviate the pain. That was when Mujin approached me and asked what was wrong. I never knew what reiki was, but Mujin dropped down to his knee immediately and helped me with the power of his touch and magnetic energy.
Since then, I had several interactions with Mujin that followed. This included bringing him my foam pad that I was sleeping on after I found out what his sleeping parameters were. He had only a small shack with a thin sleeping pad beside a terracotta ceramic stove that he purchased himself. He didn’t have much, but I recognized right away that he gave so much. After I gave him my pad, he immediately went back to healing my leg as a trade. I really appreciated it. Before I left, I asked Mujin if he needed anything. With his hands hovering over the fire, he sternly responded with, “Pork belly and some kimchi.” Kind of jokingly, but I always take every request seriously. I returned two days later and brought him kimchi made by my partner. I came back a few weeks later on December 1st. When I went to go find Mujin, I only found one woman who recognized his name. (They had just moved the medic tent, so I think it could have been a different crowd of healers? I was baffled by how cycled through the medic volunteers were.) She said that she thought he went to Colorado, but was worried since he hadn't returned in awhile. I trusted her word.
Turns out, Mujin didn’t go to Colorado. If he tried to, he didn’t get very far, because Mujin has been in jail with a $1,000 bond over in Walworth County Jail in Selby, South Dakota for a month. He was arrested on November 23. This is baffling, because my healer friends have returned to camp and asked around for Mujin a few days ago (Around December 16th) and the only response they received was that they hadn’t seen him in “a few days.”
I know for a fact that Mujin has deeply affected a lot of water protectors’ lives during his time at camp. I know that people consider him to be a powerful healer and an incredible asset to the medics. And this is why I am creating this campaign to help bring awareness to those who I know did not purposely abandon him. Please, donate whatever you can. I don’t mind if it is even a dollar. I have the fundraising goal set to $1,000. I believe the best way for us to promptly set this up is to keep calm, get organized, and to stay connected.
Here is my plan of action:
We collectively raise the $1,000 through Paypal. Unfortunately, Gofundme doesn’t allow for us to raise money through their account for any sort of legal reasons. So every time I have tried to start something, it has temporarily blocked me. It seems apparent that we need a different system in check. The more organized we are and when we have our funds going in one direction instead of multiple, we can gather these funds quickly. Following up on this, because GoFundMe is making this much more difficult, I will create a separate Paypal account specifically for the fundraising of Mujin’s bond. Each day until the amount is collected, I will update you all on FACEBOOK with a screenshot of the funds collected following an update on whatever information I have collected.
Funds will hopefully be raised by Wednesday or Thursday, I will transfer the funds right away and it should only take at most business day to get through. The reason why I say Wednesday is because that is the day I finish up my Mechanical Engineering degree. I am only back at home because of academic purposes. I have no obligations after that besides helping Mujin right away.
I will drive myself to the jail that Mujin is at, deliver the money, and get him out. Whether it be on Christmas or not, I am dedicated to this. There is no reason for Mujin to have to stay any longer than he already has.
With Mujin, we will figure out a method of collecting his belongings. From my understanding of other folks who have been arrested for the NODAPL protest, everyone’s cars were impounded. Therefore, we need to figure out the means of getting that back. We will focus on those costs after Mujin is safely out of jail.
I understand people's doubts in being able to blindly trust someone that they do not know and someone who has randomly appeared after nearly a month of his jail time. I apologize. I apologize for being a poor friend and not further seeking out the truth earlier. But I truly believe that we must meet our prayers half way and follow some sort of organized path to both collect the necessary funds and to help bring more order into this chaos of sudden information on Mujin’s whereabouts. Please, help. I have literally joked at camp that Mujin was my favourite person at camp, in fact, that I thought I adored him more than my partner that I met there as well.
Mujin is a hilarious, cheerful, and incredibly humble man, He has all of my respect and I promise you that I will do everything in my power to keep that smile on his face and repair his faith in the stars.
