You can find Tywin on my new multi @asoiafundone !
OOC: Iâm thinking of putting all my blogs except for my main (meryllfrey) on a multi.. so it would be Tywin, Roose (rooseundone), Jaqen (facelessjaqen) and Mel (knightofsorts). Would you guys still write with me on a multi? I think my other muses would get more attention this way -- i hardly ever log in to Roose, Jaqen or Mel right now.

Do you think the Reyne-Tarbeck Rebellion would have been avoided if Tytos Lannister had betrothed Genna to a Reyna or a Tarbeck rather than Emmon Frey?
Thanks for the question, Anon.
No, I donât, because I donât think Gennaâs betrothal would have satisfied what the Reynes and Tarbecks (specifically Ellyn Reyne, Lady Tarbeck) really wanted - control of and influence over the rule (and ruler) of Casterly Rock. The Reynes had come close, twice, to installing a Reyne scion as the future Lady of the Rock, and under Tion specifically, House Reyne had reached its peak influence. âOfficers, honors and lands were showeredâ upon not only Roger and Reynard Reyne, but also on Reyne uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. Had Ellyn had a child (with either Tywald or Tion), the Reyne victory would have been complete. Lady Ellyn would have been the obvious choice to be regent should poor Tywald or Tion have perished before little Lannister was 16, but even if the child had lived to his (or her) majority, the position of the lady mother to a paramount ruler is one of huge potential influence (so long as she didnât go all Isabella of France, but then Ellyn was probably too clever to do anything like that). The Reynes would have a permanent sphere of influence around the new Lord Lannister (need we forget the presence of the brothers Woodville or Seymour around their respective nephews?), and with that would come the opportunity to grant more lands and honors on Reyne-Tarbeck relations.
Genna simply would not have given them anything close to that. At best, Genna would have given the Reynes a lesser blood claim to Casterly Rock, but even they would be hard-pressed to skip Tywin, Kevan, Tygett, and Gerion in the succession, or convince other westerlands Houses to do so. Depending on whom she married (a Reyne or Tarbeck heir might require her to make her seat at Castamere or Tarbeck Hall), she might have been invited to live at the Rock with her husband (as she does IOTL with Emmon Frey), but again, there is little to no opportunity there to influence father Tytos or brother Tywin, certainly not as naturally as a mother might influence her son. Certainly as well, I think Tywin would expect Genna and her Reyne/Tarbeck husband to support a very pro-Lannister household; their children might be surnamed âReyneâ or âTarbeckâ, but theyâd have to know that they were Lannisters first (and indeed, given OTL Gennaâs Lannister-ness, I think she would enforce this herself). Her marriage would not lead to the exploitation of Casterly Rock for the benefit of Tarbeck Hall or Castamere, and this was the central tension of the Reyne-Tarbeck Rebellion.

The Golden Lion defeating the red stag
gennalannisterfrey:
She had been at Kingâs Landing when Stannis had attacked by the black water. She headed there after the news of her firstbornâs, Cleos, and husbandâs death, to be with family while she grieved. She stayed with the women in the safe room of the keep until Cersei left and left it as well, as she tried to figure out how to get out of this mess the young king had brought on them.Â
She found a window that overlooked the bay trying to keep track of what was going on in the city below. She noticed the red lion of Lannisters coming from the north and west. Tywin had come, he had disengaged with the battles with the northerners to come to the Kingâs Landingâs aid. She moved through the castle towards where she figured he would head to after she saw what few ships that Stannis had left started sailing away. She saw him exiting the throne room and stood there waiting for him to notice her, and taking his presence in. He had came, and she could almost see him as she did on the day he had spoken out against her marriage to Emmon. She wanted to run and embrace him, but she knew it wouldnât be proper.
@gennalannisterfreyâÂ
It was nearly dark by the time Tywin left the throne room. It seemed nearly half the city had been knighted after the battle and it had taken all bloody day to hear the oaths of the rabble that would now be known as Sers.Â
It was with some surprise that he found his sister in the long corridor outside of the throne room, lost in thought as she gazed out the window at the Bay. Once buxom and shapely, her figure had succumbed to excess, yet she still stood proud and dressed as elegantly as ever, her gown as flattering to her figure as was possible. Tywin hadnât heard that she had come to the capital, though he supposed it made sense with most of the Lannisters now at the Red Keep.
He joined her at the window, and wrapped an arm comfortably around her waist.
âI suppose it would be a waste of my breath to offer condolences for the loss of your husband.â
We all die. The question is what we stood for while we lived.
They stood in the throne room-- Tywin, Eddard, Robert and Jaime --and the body of late Aerys II lay before them, nearly drowned in a pool of his own blood.
Once, Tywin had called him friend, but that had been many years ago. This man, this so-called King, had stolen Tywinâs heir, dared to lay hands on his wife, and had refused to take Tywinâs advice even after the crown was buried in financial ruin.
And now, slain by a Lannister blade, but not by Tywinâs hand.Â
Jaime- who had been Tywinâs heir and hope for the future, stolen from him by Aerys and recruited into the Kingsguard- Jaime had repaid the debt in full.Â
Someone had to kill Aerys, Tywin had overheard Robert saying to Ned.
Even now, Tywinâs bannermen were sacking Maegorâs Holdfast, ensuring that the Targaryan bloodline ended here and now.
Any moment now, his men would present Robert with the bodies of his enemies, and an alliance between House Lannister and the new Crown would prosper. Tywinâs blood was nearly singing with the possibilities. An opportunity had presented itself to ensure his Houseâs legacy, and Tywin had seized it.
Tywin took a step back to avoid soiling his boot with the ever growing pool of blood.
âThis one stood for blood and fire, it seems,â he said in response to Nedâs philosophizing, nodding curtly toward the body of the Mad King. âShall we give his body to the flames? There is a certain poetic justice to it, no?âÂ

Think of the toughest, meanest, least understanding person you've met in your life. Your inner voice is ten times as cruel. The fact that you've managed to accomplish anything despite that bully is a miracle. Do yourself a favor. Next time you start telling yourself there's no point in trying, have a quiet talk with your inner voice, and tell it to buzz off.

When the Dornish girl started talking to him at the royal wedding, he fully intended to politely excuse himself and move on to more formidable company. But then she turned out to be clever. And several of her observations on the guests around them were astute, and even enlightening.Â
It was maddening.
âYou could move a little closer so I can bask in your glow,â he suggested. âAnd pour some more wine while youâre at it,â he added, pushing his empty cup toward her and nodding toward the bottle that sat across from her.Â

Two things. I can feel his judgmental disapproving gaze and hear his voice. Amazing Tywin đ
Thank you thank you! I canât wait to see what kind of trouble Isy can get into with Lord Tywin!!
I can hear Tywin's voice in my ear when I read your replies. I get the same repulsive impressions that Tyrion gets when Tywin talks to him. And it inspires my roleplay.
Thank you so much! In my HC, Tywin actually does have a soft side, but Tyrion isnât likely to see it ;). Iâm glad you find him repulsive XD.

Heâd requested that the wedding be small - only the necessary elements and with only those members of the family that needed to be there. The realm was at war, and austerity measures seemed appropriate.
Lady Sansaâs gown was simple but elegant - a gold brocade embroidered with Lannister lions and red pomegranates - and her hair had been styled in the same fashion that Cersei had favoured as a girl, although a strand had fallen loose over her eyes.
He had brushed it away with hardly a thought, but her whispery response had him looking closer at her face. She wasnât crying, he noted approvingly, for half the reason he had requested a small wedding was so there would be few witnesses to a bride bawling her eyes out at the idea of being married to Lord Tywin.
âJust a few words and it will be done,â he said, realizing as he said the words that they were probably not as reassuring as he intended.
Itâs funny isnât in. Both of us here, we already know weâve had our one true love.
Lady Mellario had been at the Red Keep for all of a fortnight, and had attended exactly one small council meeting, yet she seemed to have already adopted an air of familiarity with Tywin that he did not share.
He didnât wish to speak of Joanna to a stranger, to anyone at all for that matter, yet he could not help correcting the woman.
âMy love died, but it seems to me that you left yours by choice.â
coerulus:
âYour son didnât tell you?â Internally she cursed Jaime that she should have to be the one to tell Tywin. It wouldnât be as convincing coming from a stranger. Still he demanded an answer, so she took a breath and told him.Â
âWhen he was being held prisoner Lady Catelyn agreed to release him on the condition that, when returned safely to Kingâs Landing, heâd allow her daughters to come back with me. Youâve no right to keep them here, and Iâve come to make the exchange.â Â
@coerulusâ
He should have been told immediately about this agreement.Â
Tywin bristled at the mention of Lady Catelynâs daughters. Daughters. Plural, with an âsâ. How Cersei had managed to let the youngest one slip through her fingers, Tywin would never understand. Those girls had been priceless in value. And to let the older one be humiliated and abused by Joffrey. It had served no purpose that Tywin could see other than cruelty.
But at least they still held Sansa. And she would soon be a Lannister.
He sneered at the woman. It wasnât necessarily her fault that he was just learning this information, but that didnât stop him from taking out his anger on her.
âLady Catelynâs daughters are safer here than they would ever be on the Kingsroad. You could not protect Jaime, a member of the Kingsguard, from losing a hand, so how could you possibly hope to protect two little girls?â
