MRH's (@mediaroomhub) November edition is out and on it they have the Executive Governor of Imo State, Governor Rochas Anayo Okorocha. With so much controversies surrounding his government in Imo State, we believe it would be better for us to hear from the horse's mouth. In this interview, His Excellency, Governor Rochas Anayo Okorocha talks about his administration in Imo State, how he made his first million, his near death experiences on two different occasions and most importantly his decision to erect President Jacob Zuma's statue and that of other African leaders which are yet to be unveiled in Imo State. This is quite interesting, following the claim that he's unveiling the Liberian president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf's statue in Owerri. In their up-to-time lineups, they also had a chat with Oluwapelumi Shittu @pelumi_shittu, a 22 year old MSC holder in Architecture from the University of Lagos and also a fast rising TV presenter on EbonyLife TV's Moments Z. LJ Couture Unveils New Collection inspired African Culture

LJ Couture has released a new collection titled Timeless Legacy. The collection is a derivative of varying African cultures, (West, East, South and Central African Cultures) using a selection of most elements of design for the collection-Wax Prints, Cotton Lycra Spandex, Fleece, Silk, Jute, Leather, Cowries, and arts. Timeless Legacy, as the name suggests, features non-aging fashionable pieces of all seasons which have been in existence for decades. With an added contemporary twist, breathing life and style into it for the modern generation, it entails ethical fashionable pieces like oversized wax print shirts and fitting pants/joggers, silky tunics, shorts, open front cardigans, shawls, infinity scarves, etc. The collection was recently debuted at the Accra Men’s Fashion Week 2017, Ghana and it won the best for the night. JLo & Alex Rodriguez are so in love in their cover story for Vanity Fair

Jennifer Lopez & Alex Rodriguez are speaking about their beautiful love story as they cover Vanity Fair‘s latest issue. J.Lo tells about how they met: He walked right by her while she was having lunch in Beverly Hills. “I almost yelled out ‘Alex,’ but I am the shyest person when it comes to things like that,” she said.

He was there facing away from her when she walked outside, and she walked over to him and tapped him on his shoulder. She said: I had just come from a promo for my show, “Shades of Blue” (in which she plays N.Y.P.D. detective Harlee Santos), so I’m dressed like my character, like a boy—Timberlands, jeans, curly short hair. He looks at me. I say, ‘It’s Jennifer.’ He says, “You look so beautiful.” And their first date? Jennifer Lopez said: He was sitting there in his white shirt, very confident and manly, but then he was just so talkative!. I think he thought I was going to be this loud person, but I’m not. I just listen. So he’s talking, talking about his plans, about how he had just retired from baseball, about how he saw himself getting married again, all these things you wouldn’t normally talk about on a first date. I don’t know if he thought it was a date. I thought it was a date. Then I knew he was nervous because he asked me if I wanted a drink. I said, “No, I don’t drink,” and he asked if I minded if he had one. He was nervous, and it was really cute.

Made with a base of moisturizing coconut oil, this DIY body scrub will take you to the tropics with its vacation-worthy aroma. Coconut oil is relaxing for the mind and body and ideal as a natural moisturizer. Coconut oil contains lauric acid, which has restructuring properties that protect skin and make it soft. It also helps maintain healthy PH levels in the skin.

Homemade scrubs commonly use sugar as a gentle exfoliant, and this time I used coconut sugar for its naturally occurring nutrients like magnesium, potassium and zinc. Don’t have coconut sugar? You can certainly substitute white sugar or raw sugar for the same scrubbing effects. The oil will moisturize and soothe while the sugar and coconut flakes gently buff away dry skin, leaving your whole body soft, smooth and glowing.

Ingredients: ¼ cup shredded coconut ½ cup coconut sugar ½ – ¾ cup organic coconut oil Instructions: Gently heat the coconut oil until melted using a microwave or a double broiler. Combine the sugar and shredded coconut in a small bowl, breaking up any clumps in the dry ingredients. Add the oil to the dry ingredients and mix well. Add more oil if a looser texture is desired or more sugar for a drier scrub. Usage: Store in a resealable container. Scoop scrub into your hand and apply in a circular motion to exfoliate feet, legs, arms, hands and body. Not suitable for use on the face. Read the full article

Celebrities hit the runway for the Aboutthatcurvylife Collective at Heineken Lagos Fashion & Design Week

They Came to SLAY! About That Curvy Life Collective Defies Fashion Norms AGAIN at Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2017 For the second time in a row at Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week, Latasha Ngwube’s About that Curvy Life Collective has pushed Fashion industry boundaries in Africa – defying the stereotypical belief that plus-size, curvy individuals can’t be fashionable. Already garnering accolades from international platforms like CNN Africa and Essence this year, the ATCL Collective Showcase is a major hot topic, and for good reason. Presenting a properly thought-out collection was of upmost importance to the creator of #AboutthatcurvylifeCollective, Latasha Ngwube. There is no doubt that Ngwube executed this objective seamlessly. ATCL brought a brand new vibe to the LFDW runway, by featuring two new designers in it’s lineup, Osuare and Nori Clothing, who wowed the audience with their avant-garde designs and eclectic outfits, beautifully modeled by plus-sized women who rocked the runway confidently.  In addition, contemporary menswear brand, Assian, which also showcased last year, did not disappoint, with bold, statement ensembles especially made for men of all sizes who aren’t afraid to take chances with their style. Featuring influential style icons including South African plus-size model and body positivity activist Lala Tshabalala (Miss Curvy Lala), the ATCL showcase comprised many memorable moments. Speaking on the success of the ATCL Showcase, Ngwube notes that she is thankful to Intel for returning yet again this year to support ATCL at what is undoubtedly one of the foremost Fashion Week events in Africa. All three designers exclusively gave SCHICK a sneak peek of pieces from the S/S 18 runway collection and who better to be the muse for this digital fashion editorial than music superstar, Seyi Shay! They caught up with the star on her latest projects, fashion and her personal style. DNA by Iconic Invanity, Gozel Green and Moofa all present their S/S 18 looks tonight at the LFDW fashion week taking place in Lagos. Read excerpts below: On Her Personal Style: My personal style is really quite boho chic. I like to keep it fresh and young but still unique to me and I feel like me cutting my hair really fits well with the direction that we are moving into with my style. I recently did a photoshoot with Emmanuel Oyeleke who is a renowned photographer and details in pictures of behind the scenes can be seen on my website.

On the designers she’s currently loving: The designers I’m currently loving are designers like Iconic Invanity, Deola Sagoe. I’ve always loved Maki Oh because she’s so fresh and I’m also really loving SGTC Clothing which is a new label by an African Designer. I’m in love with a Designer from South Africa called Zarth, they design and make the most fabulous evening dresses and even daytime dresses if you don’t want to look too glam. I just love African fashion in general and I am an advocate for all my African designers, I wear them all the time no matter where I am.

Model of the Moment! Mayowa Nicholas covers SCHICK Magazine’s Latest Issue

SCHICK Magazine is back with its third issue for the fall season. The quarterly publication for smart, stylish and successful African women, features Nigerian supermodel of the moment, Mayowa Nicholas. Mayowa opens up exclusively to SCHICK about her rise to international modelling stardom, how she was accidentally scouted, and what it’s like moving to the United States and embarking on her challenging career. See excerpts of her interview below:

On her proudest moments My proudest moments are getting signed to Elite Model Management because that birthed my career and shooting the Fall/Winter 16 Miu Miu campaign in London. I also still can’t believe I walked Chanel. I was really gunning for it and I was so shocked when I got word that Karl Lagerfeld was at the fitting. I never thought I would be in that position.

  On diversity within the International modelling scene If I walk into a casting with five black girls already there, I know I’m not guaranteed that spot because the designers will pick just one or two of us. have to work so much harder to get that spot, some brands are embracing us now but it’s certainly not where it needs to be yet. On Dating I think people have this misconception that models get guys easily but it’s so hard. First of all, we move around too much to keep anything stable, we think we’ll be back home in two months but our booker could keep us for another four months and then you don’t get to see your boyfriend.

Mazelle Studio presents Pre Spring/Summer 2018 Collection
