As she ran a few random form shooting drills in the gymnasium, Khristian chuckled at the conversation she was engaged in with her teammate that was seated nearby on the court floor. She’d been asking Khris questions from the comments of her Instagram live video that she’d been on for the past few minutes. “How did my live turn into a interview session for her?”, she questioned her viewers with a smile as she read through the comments that continually flowed in. “Somebody asked if you’re a jock.“
Furrowing her eyebrows at the question, she proceeded to shoot from the three-point line with one hand, leaving her off hand to the side as she watched the ball go through the net. Jogging to retrieve the ball, she shrugged a bit. “I mean…nah, I wouldn’t say that. Basketball is just sumn’ I do but it ain’t everything to me. Yo, I didn’t even know people still did that clique shit. Fuck is this? Middle school?” Chuckling, she dribbled the ball to mid court.
“People definitely still do cliques, it happens naturally. It’s really just based off who you hang around, potty mouth.“ Her teammate repositioned herself onto her back, looking in Khris’ direction. “If you not a jock then what are you?”
She emitted a small laugh at the nickname. Knowing she was liable to slip a curse word in every sentence, she took it lightly. Thinking in silence for a moment, she tried to decide which clique she’d fit into. “Rebels, I guess? I don’t really have a clique to fit into ‘cause I can hang wit’ just about anybody if they not on any funny shit. But, personality wise, I think rebel sums that up.”
“And why is that?” Narrowing her eyes, Khris glanced down at her teammate just to see she’d been in a pose that made it seem like she was truly interested. Busting out in laughter, she acted as if she was going to toss the ball at the female. Grinning as she watched her jump in reaction to the swift movement, Khris shook her head and began to dribble the ball a bit and bend her knees at a comfortable angle. “I’m a rebel ‘cause I do what the fuck I want, whenever the fuck I want, wherever the fuck I want…” After bringing the ball in a bit closer, she released it to the hoop with some extra force. Following the ball with her eyes, she watched as it hit the rim and bounced into the hoop with a worried expression that turned to a cocky smirk as soon as she heard the ’swish’ of the net. “...however the fuck I want. Other than that, I dead just don’t care for authority or anybody tryna control me. That’s what a rebel is, right?”, she inquired as she went to fetch the ball again.
The teammate nodded in response. “Basically. Another follow-up question, though—you one of them rebels without a cause or you got a reason for bein’ the way you are?” Practicing a crossover layup drill without the ball once she neared the hoop, she cocked an eyebrow at the question. “Can I be both? Sometimes I do shit just because but most of the time, it’s a reason. I was always held back from doin’ stuff the way I liked and treated different because I wasn’t like all the other lil’ girls so I tried to fit myself in a box when I was younger but I got to maybe…6th grade? I said ‘fuck it’ and did me. I’m not about to limit nor adjust myself just to satisfy the next person, especially when they not the ones who gotta deal with the aftermath of a decision I make. That’s a dub, so I lead my life the way I feel I’m happy wit’.”
"One day you gon' accept my borough, son. You whole spent the night at my spot, I feel like you can't hate too heavy no more." Flashing a slight smile, Khris brought an arm around Azilee's waist as she sat down. "True enough. It might be some bags around here somewhere or sumn'." Watching as a bite was taken out of the sandwich, Khris' smile grew once again before she let out a laugh at the reaction it received. "It's good, right? We struggled to get the shit perfect, you got the first ever Hendrix Chopped Cheese."
"Even if you could, I wouldn't let you." Chuckling a bit at the dance she did, Khris pulled a chair over and sat in it as she eyed everything on the table. "You think so? Well, y'knoooow...I try my best. Even though you front on me and like to call me Satan. But I didn't even think about how we gon' get all these bags of candy to your dorm. My helpers left me."
She laughed. “Damn, you caught me.” The smile remained on Azilee’s face as she pulled back before leaning into Khris’ lips and placing a few gentle kisses on them before finally pressing them together for a lingering kiss.
Grinning softly as she was met with another kiss, Khris closed her eyes as she let her lips move in sync with Azilee's for a short while before pulling away and opening her eyes back up. "That's better. You tried to play me."
