Tell me a happy memory! Because there can't be enough Happy Faith.
Faith nearly chuckled when her friend asked for a happy memory.
“The first time I had one of the old geezer’s birds sit on my arm.” She was talking about Birdman, a former runner who had settled down in his old age and with enough back problems to make running a chore.
“I had fed them a few times when I visited him, but that time… One just circled my feet. Birdman joked that I should extend my arm for it in case it wanted to say hello. I felt so silly with my arm stretched out until it suddenly flew up to it. Then we just… Stared at each other for a while until I lift my arm up higher and it took off again.” Faith smiled and went quiet for a moment. “I can’t remember the bird’s name, not that I could tell it apart from the others.”
