𝑮𝑬𝑹𝑨𝑵𝑰𝑼𝑴:   what’s one mistake your character remembers making?

Tilly has certainly made a lot of mistakes in her life, some she remembers with great clarity, other’s she hardly remembers that they left a scar. She remembers riding her first horse, when she made the mistake of startling the poor nag when she should have approached gently. she remembers the way it nipped and knickered, she remembers crying. she doesn’t remember being comforted , because at the time the foreman brothers didn’t allocate such affections for her. she had tried again and again, and eventually her and the nag came to a tenative and slight agreement. made over the bearing of a fat red apple (her only decent food in two weeks, the horse ate more than half, and tilly ate the rest and the core.) . she loves that stubborn old nag, even if her thumb never quite healed right from where it nipped. still, she adores it.

𝑳𝑶𝑽𝑬-𝑳𝑰𝑬𝑺-𝑩𝑳𝑬𝑬𝑫𝑰𝑵𝑮 :   has your character ever done something even though they didn’t want to?

easy to say, easy to remember . abandoning arthur morgan and john marston to their fates was extremely hard on her. never has she felt utter despair like that moment. the man that she had seen so desperately grow as much as a man like him could grow. she watched him slowly wither away and then her last moment with him didn’t quite cut it. she’s never forgiven herself , not quite. some days are better than others. afforded to her much more lavish lifestyle, she can put away enough time off work and arrange a trip up to his grave where she often meets Charles. she always leaves flowers, an offering or two of a handful of berries for the curious deer that linger  .     /    @yoursmary

𝑺𝑵𝑶𝑾𝑫𝑹𝑶𝑷:  describe a time they felt hope.

the birth of her daughter , circumstances or not. truth be told, even before she met her husband even when she met dutch and his gang. giving birth to her daughter, the making of life. it quinches a deep longing in her, to be a mother (something that most white women or feminine aligned people won’t understand, it’s a black thing). her own birth was a smoky affair, damp in the deep marsh. her daughters in similar, but also different. it feels like it was hosted by the gods themselves. blood spilt, the pain surpassing even those when she was shot or stabbed time and time before. but for the blood, she brings life. she becomes her mother, her grandmother, and all her ancestors. she finally understands the hushed whispers, the secrets told by the fire or over burning incense. secrets she didn’t know, secrets that were never able to pass on. but now she understands, she can sink her teeth in to the meet of the feeling. she breaks the cycle, breaks the chain. her daughter will be happy, she will be happy. this is the first time that she’s truly ever known unabashed hope .     /    @westress

𝑺𝑨𝑮𝑬 : what is one thing they have learnt?

tilly has learned to be almost violently self efficient. she’s learned to be cruel , but this was before she ever met dutch and his gang. she learned how to be whatever she wanted to be, but also how to survive. she grew up learning, and that knowledge stuck. not the normal girlhood things, but how to survive. then, her brief moments of humanity, the things that weren’t defined by her struggle to LIVE, to SURVIVE abuse and hardship? she learned that with dutch’s gang, she learned how to smile without ulterior motive, she learned how to trust. she never forgot how to be on her own, how to kill, how to be strong. but now she’s learnt how to be soft, how to string together words that aren’t meant to hurt. how to love.

𝑻𝑯𝑹𝑰𝑺𝑻𝑳𝑬: what’s one time your character has been angry and harsh with someone?

before she met anyone that offered her a kind hand, tilly was always angry and cruel with others. but honestly, those of note include any moment where she has been forced to interact with micah, or in any tune where she has been forced to interact with others that may wish her harm. She’s wished death on Malcolm Foreman (and in the end, no star or god made that wish come true, instead she slit his throat with her own hands. she stabbed him 32 times, she was free of him). and she was EAGER to be harsh to thoses that have looked down their nose at her. 

but these days, from the time before she was a mother and the time when she became a mother, she’s learnt that softness is also steel. she’s learning how to be gentle, easier to settle versus easier to anger.      /    @martyrdawn
