ngl i feel like the "fiction doesn't affect reality" statement has lost all of its nuance

fiction CAN and WILL affect reality, if proper precautions aren't taken

it's up to both the creator and the consumer to know their boundaries

creators need to PROPERLY and THOUROUGLY tag content (no censoring, full list of possible content warnings, making tags accessible, etc)

and consumers need to check tags, and most importantly KNOW YOUR LIMITS. if you know something is going to be upsetting, don't consume it!

but the world isn't perfect, so as i said before, fiction can and will affect reality, but only due to negligence on both ends.
