Cricket waited until the threat was over, with the strange arachnoid laying unconscious after they surprisingly found back-up amidst the shadows. Unmistakably curious, but remaining a respectful few feet away, the Thri-Kreen eyed & observed Kar'niss, before he hurried over to Amalica.
❝ I never saw one of these before. It's a half-breed, of some sorts ? ❞ He stood next to the sorceress, much like a scientist would consult an assistant. A soft tremble lingered in his hands when he adjusted cherry red glasses.
❝ Do you think we will see more of them ? ❞

As Amalica wiped the silvery blade of Phalar Aluve - cleaning it of the blood of the now felled Absolutists - she noticed Cricket's approach, red eyes meeting his slightly worried expression.
Not that she could blame him - a Drider was a worrying sight, all things considered.
"He's a Drider," She explained, "A drow given the lower half of a spider by way of a curse, bestowed by Lolth. Usually as punishment for disobedience or failure."
She'd seen the transformation up close - the cracking bones, the sprouting legs --
It wasn't something she wanted to see ever again.
And the experience gave her some form of pity for Kar'niss, the Drow unable to find it in herself to kill the abomination, rendering him merely unconscious before taking his lantern and freeing the pixie within.
"...I can't tell if you want to see more driders or not," Amalica admitted with a bit of a nervous laugh, before continuing, "I don't imagine we will, though. They tend to stick to themselves in the Underdark."
"Unless things have changed with the rise of these cultists."
