Here is the first interview from San Fransisco artist, Flexshomaru. It was a lot of fun interviewing Flex. Heâs one of those artists you can relate to without trying.

Letâs start off with the most important question⌠Are you always up for Real Kenshin Hours?
Bro Iâm one of the creators of Real Kenshin Hours. I live for those hours.
Music to me is a form of self expression. I use music to vent my feelings. In my music, youâll either my love for games, or my hatred for locals. Either way Iâm real passionate about my expression. I honestly didnât wanna rap anymore after I dropped Whatâs Next but then I noticed thereâs a few people who wanted more. So why not deliver it?
What was the process in making Flexology?
Honestly Flexology was crazy because this is the project where I discovered my sound. I wanted to use Flexology as a platform to show people I can make very different types of music. It started with my video game vibes and ended with my Karambit into your neck vibes haha! The only process Iâd say was transitioning into my new style and still being able to deliver my old one.
Who inspires you to flex everyday?
Haha! Man I donât even like flexing! You know how bad I wanted to change my name? Like I do the opposite of Flex, I donât even leave my damn house unless Iâm working or recording music! But, I guess who influenced the whole âFlexâ thing in my name was Hodgy Beats of ODD FUTURE. He said on a track with Domo something like âFlex so much I should be a Flexesaurusâ I was sold instantly. I needed to be a Flexesaurus (Mind I was 16) haha!
What would you like to change your name to?
Honestly I wouldnât change my name. The only time I donât like hearing my name is when some local (who knows my full name address and everything about me) comes up and is like âYO WasSUp FlEX BrOo Flex MeSSiAh DuDe Yeah Flexshomaru Yeah broâ like shut the fuck up you know my actual name. People like that influence me to make the angry music I make because I canât stand people who think so highly of themselves when they arenât shit.
Can someone with no money or fans inspire someone who does?
Yeah because if you look at the mainstream you can tell that they are slowly picking and choosing some trendy topics from the underground. One topic that many of the people reading this can relate to is anime.
Describe your experience with Logged_In.
Man Logged_In is just a dream being fulfilled. My brother Cody, owner of Logged_In, had this vision. And each person in Logged_In plays a role. Every person serves a purpose. From Tailors to bloggers, itâs a real team based operation. The whole experience has been a learning one. I would have never imagined Iâd be doing what weâre doing. Growing up, I was at every underground show in the Bay basically. So now being part of the group that is throwing things, itâs been great being able to give back to the community that made me who I am now. Logged_In really gave me the confidence to approach things how I wanted too, so without it I probably wouldnât be who I am now. Iâm real thankful.
Cody, the owner is an amazing artist too.
What do you do in your off time?
I spend my days playing games or skateboarding. But I havenât been skating much recently, Iâve been a little busy with my personal life.
Who is your favorite person to work with?
For artist, I canât say because I havenât work with someone twice other than my brother Iminoaru. But Performing with Killstation is just such a great experience. Me and that guy go way back. So being friends outside this music shit, I can really vibe with him and we can feed off each otherâs energy naturally. So kill hands down for performing. My favorite producer to work with is Purple Cloud. Donât get my wrong all the other producers I fuck with are amazing, but Cloud really asks me about how I want the beat and asks me for samples to flip and customs/exclusives.
When will you design merchandise?
Iâm in the process. I might release 2 shirts. Thing is, I donât expect anyone to buy anything. Either Iâm undermining myself or Iâm being realistic haha. So if I release something, itâs gonna be rare. Very limited copies. So whoever buys them are real legends. So I can tell whoâs fucking with me on that level you know?

Whatâs one thing you hate about making music?
The anxiety of having music you wanna drop but not knowing when or if people are gonna like it. I hate that.
