This week’s Yahoo Japan Auction haul! (had to fight with my post office to get the second package that was supposed to arrive 4 days ago)
First photo: Hundred Beast King Golion (百獣王ゴライオン) mini card set, and karuta (かるた) set.
Second photo: Six God Combination God Mars (六神合体ゴッドマーズ) and Space Warrior Baldios (宇宙戦士 バルディオス) art books.
Third photo: Armored Fleet Dairugger XV (機甲艦隊ダイラガーXV) coloring book, and a Golion guide book (fan-made).
The Dairugger XV coloring book is great. Untouched and the line art is pretty damn good for a coloring book and faithful to the designs of the show, albeit highly amusing pose in the case of Keetz/Krik.
I’m going to be scanning these over time (high res quality for art use). If any Dairugger or Vehicle Voltron fans have a request then I’ll scan those first. My Asks and DMs are always open, or @ me on a note. (Alas, no Cinda in this book)
So about that Golion guide book. Hell of a cover right? Had the cover been shown in the auction then I wouldn’t have bid on it (and certainly not for the amount asked for). Well, once again, Japan never disappoints.
What the auction didn’t mention, was this guide wasn’t just a fan guide to all of Golion…OH NO. It includes a small section on Voltron Defender of the Universe, Fleet of Doom, Voltron Legendary Defender, and a collection of Voltron and Golion promotion posters, including this amazing Sprite Voltron promo that looks like an ad promoting Sprite as if it were a movie.
Above: Doubt I’ll have time to translate this page, but the author wrote out Shiro’s name in Roman letters, so there’s that.
