Nathaniel looked up from his Bible resting open on his lap, his mind lost in the comforting, familiar words of the scripture even as Percy spoke. He blinked in reflex, his mind needing the few extra seconds to process her question. His eyes fell on the cups, and he allowed himself a small thankful smile as he realised.

❝ Oh, I like it sweet. Thank you for your concern miss Shelley. ❞ He still addressed her so formally, even when he wasn’t certain there was any need to; but he wished to be polite. ❝ You’re very kind. ❞

「 🔥 」 “Two spoonfuls, then,” she decided with no more consultation, adding the sugar to Nathaniel’s cup before adding half a spoonful and some cream to her own. After bringing the tea over and setting both cups on the table, she returned for the snacks----picking up one scone before nudging the plate towards her companion. “Help yourself. I made them this morning, so they’re nice and fresh.”

he murmured sleepily; rousing himself awake & reaching over to the door & sliding it open. a yawn broke out as he stepped out, shaking his head slightly to get himself to wake up. ❝ Can’t sleep? ❞ he asked, already being familiar with the routine, as this has happened before. hand reached out & lightly petted her head, to ease whatever tension she was feeling before heading over to the kitchen to prepare tea for them both. luckily there were still plenty packets to use for times like these.

「 ✿ 」 Though it wasn’t necessary, Kyouka nodded to confirm both statements; whether she would end up talking to him or just silently bask in his company remained to be seen, but either way, she stood to trail after him, relaxing minutely once they reached the kitchen----a more open space, somewhere she could breathe a little easier. ( Sometimes when she laid in bed, she feared that the walls would close in around her, would suffocate her. ) While Atsushi prepared the tea, she rummaged through the cabinets to find snacks to go with it, and she placed them down on the table as she sat, gaze focused intently on the packaging.

special buildings… that he likely has taken no interest in until now. theaters, restaurants and rooftops to watch the cityscape from : none of them sound as though they would be a viable source of youthful delights —— not stuffed animals. hardly a stranger to arcades – impossible, given his subclasses’ demand for entertainment almost every waking moment of their melancholic lives – there is no recollection of plush companions resembling foxes that waited to be picked up at the exit. too bad for him. Tsubaki would find it endearing ; an animal to represent each of his family members, perhaps offered to Suzuran in an attempt to provide a little comfort to her when any of them aren’t in sight.

or an implied hope for retribution… for reasons he has no issue disclosing to her. ( the girl was likely told all about it the following day. )

「 ✿ 」 If they couldn’t win a stuffed fox, Suzuran supposed they could always look for shops that sold them----but that wasn’t nearly as fun, no matter how cute the plushies were. ( Well, she supposed that anything could be fun as long as she did it with family. Most of the time, at least. ) At Tsubaki’s affirmation, she wasted no time in reaching out to take his hand, all but dragging him to the door in her excitement. While they were out, maybe she could find another rabbit plush, or some clothes for this one to wear. If not, she could always sew something for it herself.

“If Sakuya tries anything,” though her smile didn’t falter, her pleased tone took on a sharp edge to match her words, “I’ll stab him.”

Well, that was certainly one way to respond to her comment about having sleep struggles. Cool composure is quick to break at his strange sense of humor. Yosano barely manages to choke back a laugh, reinforcing her grip on her cup mid drink. It takes her a moment to regather her bearings with a dismissive wave of her hand, but she manages.

“Benadryl is pretty quick.” Setting her cup down, a smile beams in its wake. She shys away from mentioning the fact that he should consider taking up a job as a comedian on the side. “It’s not the quickest alternative, though. But I can’t say I’d recommend the others unless you’re fine with getting the wind knocked out of you.”

「 ↻ 」 Given his history, Eliot couldn’t say he was eager to take any medication to begin with, nor would he call it necessary; after all, he rarely had trouble sleeping outside of exam season when he had to stay up to study and finish homework. ( Sometimes, his diligence slipped and caused him to fall behind, but that had yet to become too much of a problem. ) Sighing, he adjusted his glasses and fidgeted with his coffee cup before taking a long sip.

“That’s probably for the best. I wouldn’t want to miss any exams.” That would only push him closer to a nervous breakdown, which he’d rather avoid. It sometimes seemed like he was barely holding onto a thread in the first place. “On the bright side, I’ll have a break soon.”

His parents had surely had enough frights between both him and Shigeo, and he wasn’t intent on keeping Mikasa out for too long and worrying anyone else.

「 ⚡ 」 The girl listened to the explanation with rapt attention, mentally noting that she should do more research on frogs later; after all, the only one she knew much about was Gekota, and even then, she had an unfortunate lack of first-hand experience. Well, she knew a frog-related activity that might be more fun than watching them eat their own skin: finding Gekota merchandise.

“‘Misaka thinks she would rather see that in a documentary and not in person,’ says Misaka as Misaka nods to herself.” It would be fascinating, of course----as nature tended to be----but it didn’t sound like a lot of fun to witness. “‘The frogs can eat their skin in privacy,’“ she decided. Retracting her hand from the frog’s safety cocoon, she studied the slimy residue on her palm. Gross, but cool. “‘For now, Misaka should be getting home, but she’ll let you know when she wants to see the frogs again. Or we can do something better!’ says Misaka as Misaka has a surprise in mind.”

As for what that surprise might be, well, she didn’t intend to ruin it. Even if she hadn’t quite meant to mention the thought to begin with.

「 ♔ 」 A brief PSA: activity is pretty non-existent right now due to the end of the semester and real life stuff, and once I have the free time again, I will be moving blogs! The new blog is over halfway done already, and once I’m done, I’ll go ahead and follow everyone that I want to carry over interactions with. I’ll answer any threads (that are my turn) and asks I want to keep before officially moving; likewise, I won’t be starting new threads or accepting new asks until after the move.

noodles, vegetables ( although a tad vague, taking into account the variety ) , soy sauce… tofu. nothing he doesn’t have in the kitchen, and nothing that hints to a meal that takes too long to cook. to admit he’s starved, to feel as if the pressure on Kyouka doubles for every second he must wait – given her honest desire to make something to his liking – for the girl’s sake, he would rather try to mask the first sign of an empty stomach than speak up. ( should it catch him off-guard, he’ll just acknowledge it then : defeated, on the spot, and likely pinned where he stands by her inquisitive glance. )

❝ in the meantime, want a drink? ❞ a teen-friendly drink, that is —— for he couldn’t, in good conscience, push any sort of alcohol her way. ❝ there’s some orange juice in the fridge. I got it this morning. ❞

and chocolate, by far an obvious preference of his and a permanent presence in the cupboard above his head. when it comes to himself, he cares little… but dessert before a meal can and would never hesitate to ruin the appetite of a small body that’s still growing. that’s why Chuuya keeps the secret to himself until Kyouka’s had the last bite of yaki udon. after retrieving what she requires ( albeit with personal input regarding the vegetables ) , he gathers the ingredients together on the counter.

「 ✿ 」 Kyouka paused as she processed the request, tilting her head as she debated the proper reaction. It might be fun to cook together----but she didn’t learn to cook because it was fun. It was simply an activity, one that drew her mind away from unpleasant thoughts; while her mood right now was pleasant enough that she didn’t feel the need for a distraction, the notion of sharing the kitchen still struck her as odd.

Not quite right, though as for why, she couldn’t quite put that into words.

“...thank you,” she murmured after a moment, wandering into the kitchen, “but this is your victory meal. I’ll make it.” That was the bet, after all, that she’d cook for him if he won the game: she didn’t plan on abandoning her obligations. Maybe some other time, they could cook something together. Maybe if she ever wanted to try a more complex meal, she’d request his help with it. But for the time being, the thought didn’t settle well. She glanced around, and upon recalling that he asked a question she ignored, she turned her attention back to him. “Water, please.”

if someone had told him that he would be feeding stray cats along the way home, much less the fact it had become ingrained as a part of his routine, miharu would have scoffed at the idea. perhaps he would have given a moment of amusement at the claim, but alas he finds himself in the exact situation he would have never expected to. the town was covered in a good amount of vegetation and wildlife, a quaint little place away from the hustle and bustle of the city, a scene of harmony.

though miharu couldn’t say he had the determination and drive to feed every last stray, he hadn’t the time nor patience for it, but a single lucky feline would be fed by him every afternoon. though this time a tad different when there’s a stranger right where he always feeds it at the entrance of the alleyway.

’ good afternoon. ‘ a casual greet he rarely initiates, he knows nothing of who she was, ‘ have you taken a liking to it? ‘

「 ✿ 」 Kyouka never considered herself to be particularly fond of cats----no more than a few specific felines, at least. But life had a funny way of changing a person’s perceptions, and since becoming acquainted with new people, she ended up paying more attention to the stray cats she passed; it was what the president would do, after all, and in order to become as admirable as him, perhaps picking up a few of his habit would aid her.

That afternoon, she’d gone quite a bit off her usual path for the sake of a job, and on her way back to the city, the meowing of a cat caught her attention. Since she had a couple treats on her, she stopped, crouching down to feed the animal.

And it appeared she wasn’t the only one. Upon hearing footsteps approach, Kyouka glanced over her shoulder. A boy, likely around her age----likely someone who meant no harm. She looked back at the cat. “He’s nice,” she replied, a way of saying yes, sort of. “Is he yours?”

Do I Follow Them? And why?: If I didn’t, I’d be dead on sight because that’s a crime. Honestly, I can’t remember why. I didn’t know a single one of your muses, and still didn’t up until reading BSD recently lmao, so I probably just really liked your writing. Because it is very good stuffs it in my mouth.

An AU Idea For Our Muses: What if - hear me out - you let Kyouka be happy. None of that canon BS, she’s going to school with Ritsu now and they’ve been childhood friends and her life is OK. Also, can I get an AU where Last Order doesn’t die ever because I happened upon that info by accident and felt myself dissociate. It took me forever to realize your muse pages had TABS and info that would HURT. Don’t let Ritsu ever find out about that I’ll kill you.

A Song For Our Muses:

Kyouka. Just a song about telling people being themselves, and how it’s ok not to abide by the molds set by the world while finding comfort and understanding in those who are your friends. I think it fits them both pretty well.

Last Order. This one is a little different !! It isn’t about the lyrics - it’s a love song - but its the feeling. Fly Me To The Moon has always come off as a lullaby to me no matter the rendition ( though this one is very cute ). Super gentle, soothing, soft, and melodious. I don’t know, I can just imagine Ritsu humming the tune and brushing her hair.

Do I Ship Our Muses?: They’re gonna be family ok … Kyouka is gonna be his nee-san. SOON. Soon I will have this. And Last Order is already family. This is a family household look it’s all I have. I can see Ritsu and Serizawa being a weird-ass senpai/kohai duo though because honestly, it’s just funny. Ritsu will be her monotone sidekick.
