It could be worse, he had decided. Way worse. The place could have been crawling with daemons, hell even MT’s and that would have been so much worse… but at least there would have been a sense of familiarity; he’d have known what to do. Now, the rare feeling of uncertainty and uneasiness weighed him down.
There was one thing he was certain of though, and that was that he should technically… be dead. Memories of Insomnia’s downfall were hazy and waking up in that strange room didn’t exactly help convince him he was still sane. As strange as this place seemed to be… he had come to the conclusion that in fact, it could be a hell of a lot worse.
Sheep Hell, he had affectionately nicknamed this place, wasn’t the worst place to be, except for the fact it kept throwing surprises right at him in full force. The first had been that guy in the Crownsguard uniform (he still hadn’t found out why the Crownsguard were here) and the second was Lunafreya Nox Fleuret just yards away from him. There was absolutely no way she here; it was a trick, right? Didn’t she have a wedding to plan?
Still, if this was her, he wasn’t going to let her know he was so obviously shocked to see her here nor was he going to allow his presence to remain unknown. So, with that air of confidence he was renowned for back in the Kingsglaive, he easily sidled up beside her and said with a hint of amusement in his voice, “Long time no see, your highness. Weren’t you supposed to be getting married?“
⊰ 🔱 ⊱ ℱ𝒆𝔀 things were clear and certain. One was that she should be gone. She’s bled out and given the ring to Noctis, thus fulfilling her duty in the world of Eos, but curiously she found herself waking up in a room that was not familiar to her.
Confused as she was, she still finds herself calm and collected in the face of uncertainty as to find answers without panic. Still, she’s sure she should be gone now. All she can hope is that the world was set right in her absence though she knows there’s not much more she could have done.
Thoughts, however, should not be wasted on what ifs and uncertainty and she focuses her energy on finding her way and finding out why she’s there. What purpose did she, Umbra and Pryna have? Some purpose that Gentiana was absent from. Her thoughts travel to the messenger, wondering if she might have had answers but she’s taken from thought by a familiar voice and presence; someone she was sure she’d not be able to see again.
The Oracle turns, giving him a comforting smile though his words cause her pause. Had he not witnessed what had happened? Did he not hear the announcements of the wedding being called off and...her own demise...? “Nyx. It is a pleasure to see you again. I wish to apologise that I could...never meet you and Libertus in Galahd.” She stops, keeping her calm air but the mood has changed slightly.
“Unfortunate circumstances have taken the need for our arrangement. I have...fulfilled my duties as Oracle and thus I have left it to the rightful king.” It pains her that she may never see her childhood friend again, though she attempts to keep her death vague as to not sour this reunion with Nyx.
