The crew did not “hire a pedo.” Ami (LTF) has never committed nor been convicted of any crimes that would make her a sex offender, and contrary to what seems to be popular belief from some of the reblogs of my PSA post, the Villainous crew DID do a background check on Ami before hiring her. You guys realize a background check doesn’t reveal whether or not a person drew lewd art of underage characters when they were also underage right?

That’s another thing to keep in mind. Ami was also a minor herself when she drew that stuff. Now I’m as creeped out by that type of art as most people, hell one of my fandoms (Gravity Falls) is FILLED with it in the form of BillDip which makes me uncomfortable to no end, but I think soiling the reputation of and basically boycotting this show made by a very talented and hard working crew just because of what one crew member did AS A CHILD is re-freaking-diculous. But hey if you care more about what a minor did years ago than a series that, if successful, could have a much needed huge positive impact on the Mexican animation industry, be my guest.

Something about Villainous you folks don´t know

Yes, it is not the first animation made by mexicans to come world wide. There are other projects ( like Legends from Netflix) that are made by mexicans and had the support from big entertaintment companies but they´re very scarces and doesn´t have recognition .

Not only Lemonteaflower Participate. @iguananimator also helped out and other amazing artist and animators who are also mexicans.

Alan Ituriel is the creator of the series ( with only 23 years old ) and also voiceactor of our favorite villain Black Hat.

Markiplier makes the voice of the bear 5.0.5. WHICH ARE ONLY SOUNDS. THE BEAR DOESN´T SAY WORDS

That whole situation for ami seems really fucked, and I actually totally understand the whole part about not knowing “shota” anime stuff was bad, bc that’s a huge section of otaku shit, along with loli art. And it’s Real Fucked, and most of them don’t know it’s bad or wrong and a lot of people think it’s a joke.

Not to mention when you’re that young, you don’t think of things in super concrete terms or super seriousness (HELL I’m 18 right now! I’m probably going to be horrified at a lot of shit I’m saying these days when I’m older)

It’s certainly not an excuse for his actions but it’s certainly an explanation and an apology

I haven’t watched villainous, but it looks interesting and cool and it gives representation to people who didn’t have it before, and it really seems ami has learned from what he’s done.

I’m just sort of sick of this whole. Culture of immediately looking for problematic people or things within a project, especially one as big as a cartoon show. It takes dozens and dozens of people to make that, and to simply discredit all of that because of one or two people you consider “bad apples” are working on the project, well, I think that’s dumb.

Like yes if the person is a rapist or actual pedophile molesting children, by all mean, they shouldn’t have SHIT. But in this situation, it simply seems (with ami and even markiplier) that it’s just some people who have messed up before. And there’s nothing wrong with fucking up, as long as you learn from it, and as long as you apologize.

Basically the people running ended up doing absolutely nothing with the money people contributed, pretty much having scammed everyone.

However, Lemonteaflower, the person who’s art was used as the concept for the project, was not responsible for any of this. She had no control of nor was she aware of what was going on with the money.

HEY remember five million years ago when I got a suggestion for a picture like this and I said I’d do it and then took forever to do it. Well here it is.

I liked the idea but realized that I suck at backgrounds and environments. But then I also realized that the best way to improve was to practice so I decided to give it a try. Then I felt bad for taking so long so I ended up making it lot more detailed than I’d originally intended. I like how it turned out though!
