That whole situation for ami seems really fucked, and I actually totally understand the whole part about not knowing “shota” anime stuff was bad, bc that’s a huge section of otaku shit, along with loli art. And it’s Real Fucked, and most of them don’t know it’s bad or wrong and a lot of people think it’s a joke.
Not to mention when you’re that young, you don’t think of things in super concrete terms or super seriousness (HELL I’m 18 right now! I’m probably going to be horrified at a lot of shit I’m saying these days when I’m older)
It’s certainly not an excuse for his actions but it’s certainly an explanation and an apology
I haven’t watched villainous, but it looks interesting and cool and it gives representation to people who didn’t have it before, and it really seems ami has learned from what he’s done.
I’m just sort of sick of this whole. Culture of immediately looking for problematic people or things within a project, especially one as big as a cartoon show. It takes dozens and dozens of people to make that, and to simply discredit all of that because of one or two people you consider “bad apples” are working on the project, well, I think that’s dumb.
Like yes if the person is a rapist or actual pedophile molesting children, by all mean, they shouldn’t have SHIT. But in this situation, it simply seems (with ami and even markiplier) that it’s just some people who have messed up before. And there’s nothing wrong with fucking up, as long as you learn from it, and as long as you apologize.
