Indefinite Hiatus

I will no longer be updating or responding, period. My Flowey muse has been absent for months, and trying to roleplay has only been a chore when I try.

I understand all threads are currently unfinished. I’m sorry, but unless you are okay with me responding months late, they will be dropped.

If you’re chill with me taking literal ages to reply, then shoot me an IM sometime. If you’re not, I gotcha, and I know why you’re not comfortable with that.

There are tons of cool Floweys out there (and I’m sure there are so many more good ones that have joined), so please go explore around and find some that will be more active than I have been.

I really hate to leave after I’ve hit 4,000 followers (that’s still absolutely baffling to me, considering my extended absence(s)), but I thank you all for the support you’ve shown me during my more active periods. You have no idea how thankful I am for you taking interest in and supporting my Flowey! ;v;

In any case, this blog will remain open - I am not deleting it by any means, just in case I get a prolonged muse that will allow for me to start getting back in roleplaying,

Suddenly, Flowey no longer found himself staring upwards into the eyes of an enraged monster, but rather, straight down the tips of two glowing spears. Their luminosity was bright enough for the flower to have to look above them to keep him from squinting. Yet, he stood his ground - both literally and figuratively - keeping as still as the undisturbed surface of a lake.

Even with spears a hair’s length away from grazing his face, he could not help straightening himself and leaning slightly forward at their disappearance. Just enough so that his head lay right where they had just been -- where he would have been directly impaled by their keen points had he been there a moment earlier. 

His smug grin slipped into an exaggerated pout, voice rising in pitch like a complaining child. “ Aw, but Papyrus and I are such great friends! Obviously you’ve heard of just how close we are, otherwise you wouldn’t be here! Why would you want to force such a beautiful friendship into decay for your own selfish desires? “

“ Papyrus has told me so much about you. The Captain of the Royal Guard - his hero, friend, and mentor, all wrapped up into a nice little package. “ He shook his head in disappointment. “ How would he feel knowing that you tried to kill his old pal, Flowey? Jealousy is a very dangerous thing, you know. “

Oh yeah, uh, I guess I should tell you guys something else that has changed circumstances a little bit.

A pretty big reason for me not being all that active on here is because I actually started up an ask/RP blog for one of my OCs for Toontown Online/Toontown Rewritten. The community is actually a lot more active than you might expect, and I’m sort of making a name for myself there. That’s why I didn’t come on last week - I was answering asks for that blog. 

I’m still going to try and stick to my Friday and Saturday schedule, though.

Expression frozen as if stuck in time, his words felt heavier than their usual light nature, dripping into the changing air, almost tangible.

“ I’m no pawn of calamity. I’m the harbinger of it. “

As the spinning shields began to lower in their dance, the flower could feel a dark premonition creeping into his mind, eating at the most animalistic parts of his conscience. But it was the calm before the storm. Or, perhaps, the eye of it.

“ Protect me or try to kill me, I don’t care. I’m just as stubborn as you are. I won’t sway just because YOU try to change my mind. And you know what they say - when two people who won’t give up face off against each other, they won’t stop until they destroy each other. “

He smiled.

“ I guess we’ll just have to see who kneels first. “

Flowey reeled away from the human, tilting his head slighting and raising what could technically be considered an eyebrow questioningly. “ What do you mean? What’s not going to work? C’mon, don’t leave me out of the loop! “

The flower chuckled, petals bopping with each movement. If someone had never seen him before, they might have mistakenly thought that he was genuinely happy. His smile would certainly indicate that, but his tone, happy in sound but unsettling in usage, would chill the blood of even the warmest monster.

“ I’m kidding. About the, hee hee, ‘not knowing’ thing, anyway. “ A sudden clearing of the throat came from Flowey, looking straight into the eyes of the other, as if his gaze would be enough to keep them where they stood like glue. “ Let me be straight with you - you won’t survive out here if you keep playing pacifist. There are a lot of monsters out here who won’t be coaxed out of fighting by some hugs and lollipops, all right? Might wanna get that through your thick skull. “

Briefly, he fell silent, eyes becoming vacant as his mind chased a train of thought. A moment later, they snapped back to their stone stare, accompanied by a widening grin. 

“ Okay, I get it: I may have come off as a little standoffish back at the Ruins. But really, I was trying to warn you! Haven’t you noticed how many monsters have tried to kill you? Think about it - it’s technically self-defense! There’s no real reason for you to try and be nice to everyone. Trust me, they're not worth it. “

you know, I kind of expected to have a lot of difficulty getting back into Flowey’s head, but it actually hasn’t been that hard. Still, I might go through my headcanons to make sure I’m not forgetting anything important.

Flowey jolted out of the ground at the skeleton’s reply as thoughts of confusion slipped from his mind to be replaced by ones of surprise. Mouth agape and eyes wide, he stared up at the other, realization hitting him like a brick. He’d been faking. And he FELL for it! Though he couldn’t say he was surprised - “Smiley” had always been good at being something he wasn’t.

A smile that obviously wanted to be a scowl was directed upwards, with eyes to match. On the whole, the flower had an expression that didn’t seem like it knew what it wanted to do with itself. Part of it was twisted and angled in revulsion, and half was trying its best to look sunny and carefree, contrasting in ways that made him look distorted and beastly. 

“ Look, pal," He spat, “ if I’m going to be brutally honest with you here, I don’t think I see much of a reason to share my oh-so-tragic backstory with the likes of you. I’ve been in enough timelines to know that letting you in on anything is a bad move right from the start. You can tend to be a bit of a - how do I put this - backstabber if someone falls for your little white flag. “

The forced joy finally fell from his face, which now settled on a countenance that, though smiling, was anything but good-natured. Grinning sharply in condescension, he continued. Maybe it wasn’t cost-effective to mock him, but they both knew everything would be reset at some point anyway. He’d get another chance, sooner or later. Assuming the human made it out alive, of course.

“ While I appreciate you not immediately ripping me into a thousand pieces, I can’t say I’m happy about this outcome, either. Besides, if I did tell you about my LOVE, you’d have to do your whole judgment shtick a bit too early, and we can’t have that. “

He allowed his stem to relax to a casual form, though the heat from the surrounding rock kept him from getting his petals too close to their surface, lest they burn to a crisp. 

“ But enough about me. How about I ask you a question? Though you’d probably just avoid it anyway. How, or why, exactly, are you capable of sensing LOVE and SOUL? That’s not exactly a common feat. SOUL, maybe, but definitely not LOVE. “
