My family is a bit complicated. I was adopted (at 3 days old) but I’m also very close with my birth family so I have about eight siblings total. Some of which aren’t related to each other only me. I’m the oldest of THEM ALL so I come by my overprotective big sister traits honestly.

My parents are divorced but are great friends tbh it’s kinda weird. I have an ok relationship with both of them now but it took a lot of work to get there.

All my siblings are cool as heck though. And each in their own special way.

Other than that I’m not really close with anyone outside of my nuclear family. We are from the south but a big city so it’s all the manners, and sometimes weird traditions, without the other cultural issues. ( by that I mean racism my mom never stood for that crap. It’s part of why we don’t speak to a good bit of my extended family)

I also have a ring that my mother gave me and it might be tied with my car as to which one is actually more expensive. I’m afraid to wear the thing because it’s this big black sapphire and I’m terrified I’ll lose it and get kicked out of the family.

     A sigh. She was just so tired of talking about it. That was the problem. For goodness-sake she was twenty two now, hardly a girl anymore. It was okay for her to want to be treated a little bit differently right? Coming of age in this sort of arena was hard enough, heaven forbid you actually try and date any one. 

     Not that, that was what she was after. Not really. Even if her brother was being much more accommodating lately.
