He’d nearly had a heart attack when he heard the voice across the phone, a voice he knew, a voice he’d managed to somehow memorise after years of idolising both in person and over a digital device he knew that voice, of course Yuuri had said who he was but that didn’t count, Minami knew.
What he didn’t know though was how the man had gotten his phone number, he didn’t recall giving it to him though he probably should have at least tried at one point, all fans do that right? Try giving their numbers to their idols in some weird hope that maybe they’d call them some day and they’d end up living happily ever after with a dog in a cosy apartment somewhere nice and warm. Unfortunately, this call wasn’t about his dreams of living with his idol in cosy apartments with dogs coming true, no Yuuri needed help.
Help which Minami was READY TO GIVE, it’d take a bit of time out of his preparation schedule but it was technically the off season, time for a small break before picking up practice and heading to competitions again, it was well timed for a reason. Yuuri needed his help as the only other figure skater he knew, to help a certain Russian refrain from getting lost while visiting Japan. Why Mila Babicheva suddenly wanted to visit Japan he wouldn’t know until he asked; which he’d probably do sometime in between picking her up and getting her too wherever she happened to be staying while there. Minami assumed it’d likely be Yu-Topia Katsuki, the Japan home base of Yuuri and his new little family over in Russia.
Hiroko Katsuki was simply too welcoming and too kind to have them stay anywhere else, Minami knew that all too well, she’d usually insist he stay there whenever he took the short trip to Hasetsu for a weekend away from home.
Honestly it was heaven, he got to stay in the same home his idol grew up in who else could say that?
So now here he was, having come by taxi, waiting at the airport terminals passenger ‘collection’ point for the Russian figure skaters’ arrival, stuck in a constant loop of checking the arrival times and his own phone despite there being a clock on the board.
God he hated being stuck in one place for too long. Soon she’d be there though, and they could get this show on the road.
