You have no idea what is going but yet the thought of it soothes you. It was better then talk of dark wizards or the goblin mafia. You’re not sure of what to say so you just stay back and listen in. Maybe hope to pick up new information on to how to better survive this new world.
Magilou was hiding in an alleyway, breathing heavily. Peering out, she glanced around for any sign of Melchior. Nothing currently. She let out a sigh, sliding down the wall of the alley until she was sitting on the ground. She had run halfway across the Sector by now, and was debating if returning to her apartment would be safe.
Then she realized someone else was hiding in the alley with her. Jumping to her feet again, she backed away. Was he another citizen? Was he an illusion cast by Melchior? She couldn’t be certain… She should be on the defensive just in case.
“I…I didn’t realize there was someone else here. Sorry about picking the same hiding spot~!” If he was hiding. “So…what brings you here?”

You’re an adventurer, that is what you do. You traveled the land, seas, and mountain, faced dragons, warriors, and giants with only your bare fists. However however fearless you think you are. One thing is sure to make your heart race and send you into a panic. That is the unknown of evil. Abominations that goes bump into the night. Creepy crawlies and the undead.
Which just happened to find you this very night. The setting sun blankets the city in darkness and the streets which usually is filled with denizens of it ambling around is instead replaced by the walking dead. Whatever necromantic energy at play was strong which caused you to break out in a cold sweat. You are alone.

You are filled with fear and when fight or flight happens, you take off like a crow right into an alleyway. Your back pressed against the cold of a garbage receptacle. You jsut needed a breather. Alone. Or at least it was for a minute. As somebody else plops down next to you. She looked like a citizen. Maybe he could trust her.
“Don’t you see them? The walking dead and bugs. Very large bugs. Well of course you saw them. it why you’re hiding right?”
So to build up to Beanboy’s phantasmal battle with his pappy lets do some fun minis involving his fear of the undead, large insects, and hags. Mainly it’ll be connections in dark places ie; alleyways, abandoned buildings, tunnels, and whatever. There will be spots where static images of a fat chinese man will appear possibly as like a jump scare. If you’re interested gimme a like.

So guess who has daddy issues and will start seeing his papa everywhere until he has to face him again, only this time he is big with an even bigger sward

“The sun still rises and sets in the Downside. You can see the stars, or you could have… before they went out. It is full of prisoners. Cur, wyrm, serpent, harp, bog-crone… the list goes on. If they made an enemy of the Commonwealth, they have been cast down.”
“Oh.“
You replied, as far as you knew that downside sounded much more better then the underdark. Memories of chilly caverns fill your mind, every steps echoed and your guard was always up.
“The underdark in my world is a world beneath the world. Below even the great keeps of dwarves. Deeper you would descend into the cavernous trenches of mother earth, matching wits with the minds of illithids and aboleths. Checking strength with umberhooks, and watching your back from the likes of multitude of other creatures. It’s a miserable place where those who revel in the dark find solace in it to plan their dark ways.”
You shivered, the place terrified you.
“Everyone a idiot.”
Looks at the festivities and be like, nope.
You raise an eyebrow at the man and look at your surroundings.
“What’s so idiotic about fun?”

“My my. The city is quite active at night huh?“
“I know we talked about love but…who would seriously ever love a failure and a freak?”
“Through most of my life...“ You start, a small smile growing on your lips. “Many have called me a freak, an abomination due to the fact I’m a mix of humans and elves. My own birth father even once tried to throw my infant self over the side of a mountain.“ You stride closer to the woman.
“I always felt like a failure because all the kids at the monastery made me feel like I was never enough but there were others. who took the time to get to know me, let me really see who I was and showed me with love. I don’t know who you are miss so as far as I know. You’re not a freak nor a failure.”

IT’S dreadfully hard not to stare. I know Halloween is just around the corner and people are excited, but the amount of civilians walking around with such little clothing! Not even a coat or jacket to fend off the cold! Normally, I wouldn’t worry, but I have little excuses besides my own fear to strike up conversations with the local residents. That alone wouldn’t be enough to warrent my bothering them.
With a hand outstretched, I gently tap my fingers against the others bare shoulder with pursed lips and a look of absolute concern. This would mark the third one today that I’ve spied without something reasonable to wear for the weather. The… Fifth? Potentially sixth. I’ve lost count… Regardless, they would mark another tally on the amount of people I’ve asked for directions back to Luxborne.
“ Don’t you think… It’s a bit too cold to be wearing a sleeveless shirt? You might catch a cold, you know… Sorry. ”
You feel a hand on your shoulder that surprised you enough to send shivers up your spine. A sharp inhale later you turn around to face a girl with sun like hair and a curious expression upon her face. It doesn’t take her to long to ask you a question, which was innocent enough in its right.
You shake your head and scrunch up your face a bit. “Not at all. I grew up way in the mountains where it constantly snowed. The masters would have us sleep in the frosty air to harden our minds and body. So a day like this is kind of super warm for me. I guess everything is warm to you when you’ve swam in an icy river right?”
You chuckle, thinking back to one particular winter when a rare fish swam up the river and in your childish glee swam right after it, in water cold enough to knock the breath of a normal person.
You smile.
“I am most grateful for your concern though! It pleases me to see that people still truly care.”
“The leaves are changing color, and turning crunchy.”
You step forward and press your heel upon a quite crunchy leaf, the crinkling sounds filling you with joy and memories of your past.
“Have you ever jumped into a pile of them? It is such a wondrous thing. ”
You look at the two on the street talking and make the most confused face ever. You let out a scream.
“I DON’T SPEAK MATH!”

You noticed first of all his clothing. Leather and feather, dark in color. Very much similar you see others in your world wear except his is a lot more well maintained. He takes great care in his armor.

You noticed, sticking out of his dark locks are pointed ears, through not long, they were stouter but still had a sense of refinement to them. You realized you are looking at another half elf.

“Friend! Hail and well met.” You shout out, a bandage wrapped hand waving into the air.
