This was... embarrassing, but even Dio was aware the stupid American holiday was about being grateful for friends and family. And it wasn’t exactly a secret anymore that Dio loved his friends like they were family.
So he decided to send his best friends a message.

Yeah, so, this post is LONG overdue, and I apologize for that. But anyways, Yakumo “Yamori” Oomori, our beloved(?) @tortorem, left the confines of Hive City. As you all knew. That means the fateful battle between him and the dynamic(?) duo(?) of Travis and Magilou (@magikazaming) will never be finished in its thread form.
However, an ending was worked out between all three parties (with myself as the mediator / messenger boy), even before Yamori left. And for the sake of not spoiling the thread, it was kept vague. Life in Hive City moves on, after all, and events leave impacts and-
You get the gist.
But since there’s no point in hiding it anymore, here’s a breakdown of both the conclusion to the fight, and its effect on the parties involved. Especially Travis. Mainly Travis.
... I get that much of this might be obvious, but I swear stuff is coming up that’s relevant to this all. Just thought a recap would be appreciated for those who needed it.
Travis, though starting off strong, ended up losing his Citta-granted wooden sword after Yamori was forced to bring out his kagune. From there on, it was a simple endurance match: Yamori’s regeneration and strength versus Travis’ cartoonish durability, blinding speed, and fighting skills. With Magilou backing him up, of course.
It was a stalemate. A tie. Travis, unable to kill Yamori, was forced to retreat before Magilou (who had already been heavily injured) got both of them killed.
Results?
Yamori was livid that he wasn’t able to kill Travis... but, other than that, kinda got off scot-free. He still had control of the fastest-growing crime syndicates in Hive City, the White Suits, and all the perks that come with being a mob boss. Then he got kicked outta the city, so... yay?
Magilou, though suffering multiple concussions, got a loving relationship out of the whole deal. With Dio (@dioleft). Whose torture at Yamori’s hands she and Travis had been trying to avenge. Happy ending, there.
Travis got steadfast friends in Magilou and Dio, as well as a security job at Magilou’s Menagerie (@ca-magilousmenagerie). However, the man failed to avenge someone. He’d failed to kill someone. He’d failed to be the badass protagonist we all know he’s trying so desperately to be. If given the slightest chance to make it right (for himself), Travis is going to take it. Until then, there will always be a bitter grudge buried within.
“I… like her. I like her a lot. I wanna be closer. Fuck it, I like her so much. I want to tell her that, even if she doesn’t want to be serious.”
“Seriously, it’s very nice for my brain to conjure you to keep me company as I slowly die of boredom. I’ll admit I’m a little surprised it wasn’t Bienfu, but I do like you a lot, so maybe that’s why.”
spontaneous moodboard for @dioleft and @thewitchmagilou!
thewitchmagilou replied to your post: She’d been aware that he was planning on moving...
“I’m always up for crashing on the couch.”
She’s still down, but she smiles at Magilou. “I’mma be real: I’m a li’l surprised Dio hasn’t asked you to move in with us yet. He and I didn’t get really close until after he’d invited me in. Guess that just goes to show my little boy’s growing up, hehe.”
“Pardon me—penny for your thoughts?” Not literally. “I’d like to know which design you think is better.”
From a basket she had hung on her arm she pulled out two sugar cookies. One was coated in purple frosting, with a small white frosting spiderweb on one side and three small frosting spiders on the other. The second cookie had the same purple frosting base, but had a large spiderweb covering the whole cookie, with a single, bigger spider in the center.
“Consider it market research. I’d like to know which one is likely to sell better! And by helping me, you’ll get to keep the cookie you choose.”
✝ |{ “Excuse me, Miss Magilou...” Raphael starts, hesitating for a moment. “I noticed that you like to watch animated movies at the Menagerie. Might I ask to watch one with you tonight? I would try to rent ‘The Prince of Egypt’. It is a movie I think––I hope––we both would enjoy.” He just wants to have a friend. Tobias has all the friends; why can’t he have one, too?
