i was gonna reply to someone’s post about tayuya and karin’s relationship and halfway through i was like? they specifically wrote it was their personal headcanon @ me wyd
anyways im gonna self indulge here bc im in the mood
basically everyone wants karin and tayuya to be total besties, which i get, but a lot of people base that on the karin she grew to be and forget that she wasn’t always as self-confident. from the flashbacks we were given during the chunin exams, she seemed very timid and shy which could be because she came from a “normal” village and wasn't familiar with the ninja way of life. she obviously toughened up during her time in oto and that’s where tayuya would come in if she survived the sasuke retrieval arc. i don't think they would have hit it off right away because of their differences in ability, personality and position etc etc but gradually they’d be able to get closer. karin would probably admire tayuya’s don’t-give-two-fucks attitude and aspire to be more like her, while in turn tayuya would grow a soft spot for karin and also get a little offended when karin starts to throw her insults back at her.
i dont think its possible for them to have met before though, because karin had no reason to join orochimaru if sasuke wasn’t around.
