he’s lucky it’s lavender brown trying to convince him — someone he’s never particularly gotten along with, much less cared about. it makes it that much easier to school his features into their typical mask of cool indifference, barely batting an eye at her tears, or the emotion in her voice. “ well, congratulations, brown. you did guess wrong. maybe try your luck with crabbe or goyle — they’ve always been the brains of this little operation. ” he raises an eyebrow at her, as if to say, you should know better. “ no one i care about would be stupid enough to blatantly put themselves in harm’s way. better luck next time. ”
