Noelle Stevenson gave us a show that explored queer themes, gave us poc representation, queer representation, explored themes of abuse in a healthy way that had to do with recovery and unlearning what your abusers taught you, gave us absolutely brilliant and well rounded characters. Her and the rest of Crew Ra made us laugh, cry, rejoice, and over all made us happy with a show that I will always hold dear to my heart. Catra and Adora and everyone else will always mean the world to me.

To Noelle and the rest of Crew Ra, thank you. You're not on the edge of greatness, you've achieved it.

Is anyone else like … still in disbelief that Catradora became canon? Like don’t get me wrong, I wanted it so bad and I’m so so happy but I can’t believe it’s real. Even though Noelle is gay and obviously wanted to do it, I feared that Dreamworks wouldn’t allow it. And even if they did, I didn’t think they’d allow an explicit kiss since gay couples in the show didn’t have any before s5. And even when we first got one with Netossa and Spinnerella I thought “well that’s it then, they allowed 1 gay kiss with the side characters but there is no way they’re gonna allow one with the main characters” but then everything was leading to it more and more and I allowed myself to hope again (knowing how heartbroken I’d be if it turned out to just be implied in the end) and when it actually happened….I was legit shaking and tearing up lol

I wonder how hard Noelle had to fight for this, I’m sure they didn’t want to greenlight right away. Yeah, we had LGBTQ stuff in cartoons before (SU, Adventure Time, LOK…), but never like this. Never was it so in the center and with the main lead (Korrasami ended with an implied ending, holding hands was all that was allowed back then - in the cartoon anyway). We came a long, long way and wow it feels so good to have a whole meal for once and not just crumbs thrown our way.

No gay character died, every confirmed gay couple is still together and happy. They GET TO HAVE A HAPPY ENDING. Wow.. WOW. I was so nervous so many times that either Catra or Adora will have to sacrifice themselves…but that didn’t happen. They’re alive and happy and gay and I have never been more satisfied with an ending to a show before.
