[Age gap] Louis was 42, single and neighbors with Harry and his dad. And that wouldn't have been a problem if Harry wasn't 21 Louis' best friend's son who's had a crush on Louis since he was probably 18. Harry didn’t know if it was his own mind playing games or if he had caught Louis' eyes linger for a second longer than necessary. They had lived next door to Louis ever since Harry learned how to walk but it wasn't until Harry was thirteen that his father started inviting Louis over for dinner and vice versa, and lately, they had started having this montly get together with the neighborhood, having BBQs, movie nights on big screens or just hanging out. This month wasn't any different, the whole neighborhood had gathered in Louis' backyard for food, music, alcohol and games. Harry showed up with his dad, who left his side as soon as he spotted a cooler of beer surrounded by his fishing buddies. "Great..." Harry mumbled under his breath, rolling his eyes as he was left alone holding a bowl of potato salad that his dad insisted he'd bring. He looked around at all the people before he spotted Louis, standing alone in the corner, leaning against the fence. A wallflower at his own gathering. A few steps closer, the bowl of potato salad left on the long table in the middle of yard and a smile later, Harry was stood next to Louis. Innocent, casual, nothing strange. Although Harry was absolutely a tornado inside, trying to keep his calm while standing next to the older man. They had known each other for almost Harry's full life but he was more nervous standing next to him now than he'd ever been but he kept his cool, leaning against the fence as well. "Shouldn't you be entertaining your guests?" Harry finally spoke up, eyeing the half drunken beer bottle in Louis' hand.
