I fell in love with the chandeliers at the Muhammad Ali Mosque in Cairo. The white droplets are raw crystal. How stunning!

In 1868, Thomas Cook set off on his first journey to Egypt, renting steam ships to take his party on a cruise along the river Nile.
By 1886, a fleet of Cook’s luxurious steamers were launched, described as “the most luxurious ships on the Nile since Cleopatra’s barge.”
